I would just give up, if I were you. Logic is not going to win. Conspiracy it is!
If you like all of them, you can actually see why the judges did what they did (and I might be the only one, but Kara's rumba was not very emotional, Rachel was so much better). I'm just now waiting for someone telling me that Gavin is undermarked tonight, because his viennese waltz was a revelation. ![]() As someone with no real favourites, and whose 'best' changes week to week, I agree. Kara danced sublimely this weekend, and her rumba in particular was danced to the point of excellence, but I felt no emotion in it, it was a bit on the clinical side for me. It was more an exercise of her talent than a dance about romance. Nothing wrong with that, and it was AMAZING, but it left me cold. |

Perhaps the producers are angling for a mature female winner this year! She is a good mover, she remembers the choreography, but no way is she as good as Matt or Kara.
Engineering at its finest - it is SHOW BUSINESS ![]() and it stinks. The judging this year has been VERY VERY POOR IMPOAs a dancer and actor Pamela' arguably is better than Matt - as a gymnast she's not but that may not help his routines. Kara v Pamela is more difficult. They need somehow to allow more for difficulty in Kara's routines and to still avoid penalising Pamela for not doing the impossible. Neither is easy when they also need to get rid of Gavin and Ann and their marks are higher for them to avoid attracting votes to them. When you are giving Gavin 8s and 9s you just don't have enough marks to split Pamela and Kara at the top. If you don't give Gavin 8 or 9 he may never go. |

I am livid. It's such a fix. I think Pamela is amazing don't get me wrong but there is now way she is better than Kara or matt??
Does Pamela have some juicy gossip on the judges? Are they scared of Billy? The leaderboard has been rigged up so that either matt or Scott will go with Gavin. It makes me not want to watch these shows as it makes no difference who the public like as the producers and judges just engineer it. If I was matt or Kara tonight I wod be fuming Maybe they gave her full marks so people wouldn't think that Kara is being as favoured as she is. |

I can understand what might be gained from fixing X Factor but who would benefit from a fix in Strictly?

pamela makes fewer mistakes because her routines are easier - and yet Len claims he likes people who 'dance on the edge'
she doesn't have the style or grace of kara either |

Speaking of fixes ... the thought occurred to me that Bruno's 9 for Matt was a way of ensuring Matt and Scott tied.

In there somewhere is a question of how you mark someone older. Do you want them to tell Pamela to do something that no 60 year old could? Gapping she can avoid and ought to be penalised for. Hip joints are as they are on your X rays and most people's deteriorate with age.

![]() and Pamela is on the tour , always useful to have winner on it Last week I felt was all about engineering Pamela a chance of the semis as she was vunerable This week it was about ensuring she became a finalist Heavan know why they want to overmark Pamela but they do , what she does is done well , but for me there is never any wow in it and hence should never get 40 |

I was referring to the Most Venerable One and Supreme Ruler of the Universe (and ITV/tabloids) but I'm sure your comparison also applies!
edit: sorry just realised this should be aimed at the other poster, this quote is about x factor. |

What was the fix with Louisa? I can't remember... thanks!
edit: sorry just realised this should be aimed at the other poster, this quote is about x factor. Louisa would have probably gone anyway being bottom with the judges IIRC but it was mean.

None of Pamela's dances have been special, breathtaking or outstanding - the overmarking of her performances is an absolute farce. This lack of fairness has really spoilt my enjoyment of this dhow. Yes, Pamela will be in the finals, and many people will be pleased, but I don't want to see another one of her boring overmarked dances or any more fakeness and gushing.

To my layman eyes there is absolutely no way that Pamela is better than Kara and I can't fathom the marking at all. I think my wife hit it on the head when she suggested that the BBC are trying to redeem themselves against the charges of ageism (particularly female ageism) on a number of news and current affairs programmes.
If true, how ironic that it might be one of the new bright young things from Countryfile who might unjustly suffer as a result. |

The reason they overmark her is that she is doing badly in the publuc vote and they are trying to keep him in the competition
(Not arguing with you, btw, it just seems a bit counter-productive - after all it was very obvious how unpopular Lisa was and they still shoehorned her into the final.) |

The judges have to mark to certain criteria, though, don't they, deducting marks for things that wouldn't necessarily bother us at home? I'd give Kara tens every week because I enjoy her dances more than anyone else's, but Pamela (who is also astonishingly good, btw) is delivering what the judges need, evidently.
