The voice of reason!
As someone with no real favourites, and whose 'best' changes week to week, I agree. Kara danced sublimely this weekend, and her rumba in particular was danced to the point of excellence, but I felt no emotion in it, it was a bit on the clinical side for me. It was more an exercise of her talent than a dance about romance. Nothing wrong with that, and it was AMAZING, but it left me cold. |

I personally find something unlikeable about Pamela, even though she is a good dancer but not as good as Matt or Kara. This years Strictly has been wierd.

I am livid. It's such a fix. I think Pamela is amazing don't get me wrong but there is now way she is better than Kara or matt??
Does Pamela have some juicy gossip on the judges? Are they scared of Billy? The leaderboard has been rigged up so that either matt or Scott will go with Gavin. It makes me not want to watch these shows as it makes no difference who the public like as the producers and judges just engineer it. If I was matt or Kara tonight I wod be fuming

Maybe it could be that the judges felt that Pamela danced best. Listen folks I think she is excellent. And she is an inspiration. And wouldn't it be amazing for a female pensioner to win a reality show. And a dancing one too. And by the way I love Kara and Matt.

For all these reasons she doesn't inspire me. |

Why is she an inspiration? Because of her plastic surgery? Because everything she says is an innuendo? Because she flashes off all her bits whenever she can?
For all these reasons she doesn't inspire me. She was streets ahead of Felicity and Miles ahead of Ann who weren't that much older than her. I for one find that she is an inspiration to older ladies (like me!) that age is a fact not a state of mind - she has consistently danced better than most of the other contestants years younger than she is - and she fully deserves to still be in at this stage of the competition! FWIW - she doesn't "flash her bits" any more than any other female dancer does I'm pleased that James has finally got a partner good enough and popular enough to allow him to progress this year too! |

I find Pamela's gushing a pain in the bum, but do think her dancing, and her ballroom in particular, is excellent - her age has nothing whatever to do with it.

I particularly agree about the bit in bold. Where is she flashing her bits more than the others. Or does it annoy people that she is over a certain age and flashin her bits? I suggest we lock up all people over 60, they really shouldn't be allowed to even be out on the street anymore, should they. If I have a figure like her when I'm 61, I will certainly show it! |

Well I prefer to find inspiration from someone who has done good in the world and left this place in a better place than when they started rather than from a self-promoter desperately trying to hang onto her youth.

Every year without fail - "Somebody got more marks than my favourite. It's all a fix. The BBC want this result..."
It's not. The judges just don't happen to agree with you. But never mind, you can still vote, and if enough punters with phones share your opinion, you can even get your own way. It happened last year, and the year before, so no need for the conspiracy theories. |

The scoring is reverse-ageism because no way is Pamela a better dancer than Kara. They overlook Pamela's mistakes because she's 61. It's pathetic!

I think Pamela is doing a great job, but she does get easier routines, she is nowhere near as light on her feet as Kara, and personally I find her a bit dull to watch. Neither of the routines in which she scored 40 were worth a 40 IMO, and I'm not really sure what's going on here.

My theory is that they want Pamela as a judge to replace Alesha - better spoken, and with the extra psychology dimension.
Personally I can't stand her or her lumpen, obvious dancing. I'm "heavy" myself, and I find her insistence on thrusting those great chunky thighs at us every week quite embarrassing. What are the costume designers thinking of!! |

I love pamela and james but still want kara to win because she is the best dancer-- also its the judges that award the marks not Pamela and anyway now that there are two women they have made it easier for Matt (the Beebs new golden boy according to the nicely times Daily Fail spread yesterday) to win. |

Wasn't the dance off just in the semi, between Matt and Emma and down to public vote - they reopened the voting lines didn't they, far as I recall? It wasn't the judges who decided who went through.
Personally, I felt it was Carole who was robbed, the night she went! I must say, how exactly it happened, I'm not sure but it was Louisa that bit the dust in my head. But I suspect that there was quite a bit of the following post going on in that situation. ![]() Quote:

Pamela's performances are very good. I can understand how she might inspire others; at 61 she's competing comfortably with many celebs years younger and the only one who is consistently out-performing her is Kara - that's quite a feat.
I can understand how she pees people off too. She's ott and very "in your face". It may be genuine or not but either way I can see how it annoys. She is (imo) being somewhat overmarked and I think it is partly to keep her out of danger. However, she's probably the third best dancer there now (Scott is travelling backwards at an alarming rate) and I have no problem with her making up the numbers in the final if she gets there. Cos that's really all she'll be doing - if she's there, she'll be first out. If it's a fix, it's a fairly small and, in the long run, insignificant one. The leaderboard last night doesn't offer much protection to anyone with the tied scores. |

Dance teacher
Please don't forget that Bruno (look at me look at me!!!!) was at one time the man who taught Pamela to dance.

The public make eccentric decisions which remove good dancers from the show too early, so if the judges want to counteract that by over marking certain contestants to ensure that the best get to the later stages then I am happy for them to do so. |
