This is all very mediocre stuff....Alexandra and Beyonce was the sort of performance you'd pay £30 to see...

I doubt that duet will ever be topped.

I've accepted now, that Beyonce-Alex moment was a one off and will never happen again on The X Factor.

....even with Alexandra's (totally understandable) star-struck moments!

Agree with this, I still have the Alexandra Beyonce duet saved on my Sky+ planner!!

(In fact, I thought it was so good I had ordered all of Beyonce's CD's within 10mins of the performance finishing!)

My thoughts exactly. In fact I have just been on Youtube to listen to it to ensure I hadn't built that performance up over time. Well I hadn't, it's fabulous!

I agree, but it does make all subsequent duets so disappointing

The moment Beyonce opens her mouth and sings it is pure magic.

Very well said that has been the ultimate performance.

Could not stand Alexandra but, will concede that none of this lot have come close to that duet. Mind you none of these acts have come to any of the duets in previous finals, they've been dire to say the least.

That was the best performance on any of these series. The chemistry between them, the emotion, and the way Beyonce just strides out and effortlessly throws herself into the song. Nothing tonight can even compare.

It was great although I think if Rhianna and JLS had done a rendition of Umbrella as planned that would have been very good as well....but tonight has been shockingly poor.

I freakin' loved that duet. Beyonce just owned that stage.

She made it so bloody effortless. No bending over trying to scream the notes out - just stood and sang.

It really is. Beyonce is one in a million. Vocals, personality, dancing, stage presence... She's just amazing.

Just was an EPIC performance. Have rewatched it on YouTube and it's reminded me that I actually cheered on my sofa at that amazing climax. The whole thing, including Alex's near breakdown at the magnitude of the moment, was brilliant. Like others have said, never will be topped, but this year's efforts were particularly poor.

That duet was tops. I loved the way Alexandra held her own and at the end when Beyonce says "Sing it girl!" Pure magic.
A picture of that performance was on the cover of all the major papers in Britain but I doubt any of this current crop will.
