Getting back on the point....., I've a question. If the judges were told that forever more they could only watch one couple dance, Pam and James or Kara and Artem which would they choose? My money would be on Kara! IMHO I think James has played it a bit safe. I'm sure Kara would have had 2 perfect scores this week if it hadn't been for her foot leaving the floor by an inch on each dance.

Thanks for this post - I'd forgotten how good Tom and Camilla's QS was! It also highlights Pamela and James - 33 seconds before they even got into hold: I reckon about 40 seconds of actually dancing together.

I watched tonight's show with my parents - we are all neutral observers, don't have any 'favourites' - and all of us agreed Pamela was overmarked. It was ridiculous, considering how fantastic Kara's dance was.

Having said that, I still think Pamela did the best dance of the series with her Charlston. That was staggeringly good, especially for a woman of her age - pure fun and energy from start to finish, and she definitely deserved four tens for it!

It really wasn't. The characterisation of Charleston as the 'personality' dance in the VTs and ITT has mislead people into thinking it is not a technical dance. It is, and it has a distinct double bounce action and particularly ankle swivels. Pamela's Charleston had none of that, so to me it barely deserved an 8. If you want to see a Charleston done well, look at Kara's or Ali's.

Trolls and flamers never know when enough is enough and people shouldn't feed the trolls. Pamela's enthusiasm and enjoyment of the process will always upset some stick in the muds, never mind the agist knockers.
Pamela was at least as good as Kara and she didn't break the rules. She has always been accurately and fairly marked. I believe she is joint favourite with Kara. Entertainment is as important as dancing. remember the wonderful result of last year's competition.

I agree its GHASTLY (with a Craig voice lol).

Pamela danced brilliantly I think she could win this. Get over it.

I love Kara have always loved her she is brilliant. But it was Craig who gave her a 9 not Pamela for gods sake.

She wasnt perfect so he scored her down one point. I didnt think it was fair, but I thought Pamelas was FAIR. I love her dancing its brilliant she PERFORMS really well.

Kara I dont know sometimes I think she tries too hard and is not relaxed enough. Pamela just goes for it. I loved her performance. HURRAH FOR PAMELA. She is an inspiration to us older ladies.

P.S. But I want Kara to win lol.

Are you being serious that you want Kara to win ? Serious question.

If so excellent choice !!! LOL Kara is being challenged far more than Pamela with the choreography and is producing amazing dances every week !!! Pamela and many others could never achieve what Kara has ! IMO of course. Have nothing against Pamela she dances well.

Really? I respect your opinion and everything but I'd put Scott's Charleston above Pamela's. It was heavy, stilted and the hilarious Monkseal (a prolific Strictly blogger) pointed out that Pammie looked a bit Pennywise in the routine (the killer clown from IT ).

Kara's Charleston had the correct double-bounce action and she nailed the ankle swivels. Scored straight eights.

Pamela ran out of steam weeks ago, IMO. Her Salsa/Rumba weeks haven't been improved upon. The judges have protected her by overmarking.

Nice post and I agree and it shows that it is possible to like both.

Quite a lot of people supporting Pamela also love Kara, it is possible to appreciate both.

BIT Probably not, but Kara is 30 years younger than Pamela, so I don't expect Pamela to be able to do the same as Kara. She is still an inspiration. Yesterday she seemed really nice as she was smiling in the background and seemed to be really pleased if couples got good comments and good scores. I also like the fact that she thanks the public and James!

Well, I don't post on here very often (I wonder why??!) I have just read this thread and am completely staggered.

Surely someone should be able to post their opinion without having the Witches of Eastwick ganging up on them like a bunch of 14 year old school girls (maybe they are).

Absolutely disgusting Darling......

I think the judges hit the nail on the head when they said Pamela is a goer. James has been clever in that he's done relatively simple, but effective choreography, and Pamela has just given it everything.

Kara on the other hand, is probably more gifted technically, as is Matt, but for me there was always something lacking in both of them, yep, even Kara. Dunno what you call it, spirit, energy or something. Mind you, I thought Kara should have got 40 last night!

I know who you are referring to (not very good forum manners, and really disrespectful), but lets overlook that. We weren't nasty to the OP, we were having some silly fun about the content of the thread. According to the OP, he/she wanted to just have people post on here, who would agree with him/her. We did not, and we tried to be non-argumentative about it.

If you start a thread on a forum you must be prepared that people don't agree with you.

BTW I'm not a 14 year old girl. I'm in my thirties and I have a PhD in neuroscience, and I use this forum to discuss a show I very much like.

Have you got anything else to add to this thread which isn't a direct insult to other forum members?

I agree with the OP.

After reading the first page I looked for all the other threads where this was supposedly discussed, but couldn't find any.

I couldn't believe the scoring and I'm most disappointed in Craig for giving her 10's.

Pamela often looks heavy on her feet, her legs are often apart when they should be closer together making her dancing look messy and her shoulders are often too high.

She does dance beautifully, but not worthy of perfect 10's.

I completely agree. Unfortunately some people can't take any criticism of their 'idols'.

Well Done you, unfortunately it's not the persona that you portray online. I would suggest you read back on the thread as if it were not you and see what you think of your responses.

The argument that if you are not prepared to be insulted on a forum, it is not the place for you, as there are far worse things said out there is nothing short of ridiculous. It's like me mugging an old Granny and saying 'Well, there are far worse things that happen on the streets. If you are not prepared for a little violence, then leaving your house really isn't for you'. Very patronising and excusing nastiness.

I'd just like to add that you are extremely respectful and your forum manners are impeccable.

I wish I could return the compliment, but I cannot. And with regards to my Internet persona, I'm exactly the person I'm portraying on here. I would suggest you read through the thread again. This is how it all started.

The OP's response to a fairly reasonable request was rude.

The OP's response to another post, obviously intentionally misconstrueing what the person said (which did look like trolling). I mentioned a couple of times that the OP had the right to post her/his opinion, but that he/she shouldn't be so sensitive.

Please quote any of my posts in which I attacked the OP or anyone else in a nasty manner (e.g. witches of eastwick). Whereas your first on here was definitely attacking forum members.

I don't care that the OP doesn't like Pamela or thinks she is overmarked, I thought so myself (and I have already stated that elsewhere). My point at the beginning of the thread was that there were already quite a few threads on this.

Now lets see if you manage a non-offensive reply.

I am not a pamela fan by any means but she is a good dancer. That Charleston was for me one of her worst dances - I really disliked the choreography and the execution

the only dances of hers I liked less were her jive and salsa

As much as I love Pamela, there does seem to have been a conspiracy to keep her in the competition. I thing she is a great dancer and a wonderful advertisement that Ladies of a certain age can be old in years but not in body and mind....I think the Producers were very keen to hang on to her for as long as possible and giving her maximum marks made sure she stayed at the top of the leader board!

Pamela is good for her age and acts her dances really well (we have been reminded enough so it must be true)

But she is nowhere near as good as Matt or Kara and I would have put Scott above her as well

her dances are not hard and she gets away with a lot with her gurning and simpering

Im sorry but everyone bangs on about her VW IMO it was BORING and her emotion was IMO embarrasing

Lets face it she can act, only IMO not that good

IMO dances she has recived 40 for did not deserve it and how she wasnt first out in the swingathon is IMO mind boggling

Of course what people find offensive is generally a matter of perspective. Personally I find 3 or 4 people turning on one person in a smug and 'we were here first' manner quite offensive and I'm entitled to say so.

If you have had enough of these types of threads then why are you even bothering to read them, let alone post in them?!
