I AM NOT SAYING ALL FEMALES VOTE FOR THEM FOR THESE REASONS BUT ALOT OF TEENAGE GIRLS ONLY VOTE FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY FANCY THEM AND THEN DON'T BUY THE RECORD THE YEAR AFTER. There are plenty of males and females who do not do this (many on here) but there are alot of people who do not vote on talent but who they fancy and then dont buy anything from that artist again

So many females probably voted for One Direction and Matt only because they like them, and particularly in the case of Matt they won't come back to buy the records as proven now by Steve, Leon and Joe.

To be fair on the night going on performances Rebecca and Cher where by far the best, with One Direction and Matt more or less tied for last. One Direction miming or singing over loud backing vocals and Matt not being able to pull the big notes he normally can, it's a big shame!

One Direction had poor song choices, didnt like the music they where given it was blatantly obvious. Matt had a sore throat and is capable of good performances but with Rhianna he looked uncomfortable and their chemistry was non-existent and he strugged with the big notes on the Dido song. Rebecca was stellar with both her performances as was Cher - singing fully live and dancing. One Direction standing still on microphones miming/singing along to a purposefully to a very loud backing track.

Why vote and then not buy the record the year after. Some people spent hours in the rain in the cold all night to see a glimpse of Matt for example, but in a year they won't even want to spent £8 on a album, i don't get the logic!

Dont think i am saying this just coz of Cher, i am saying this as i think people should vote on performances not on who they fancy! and also they should come back the year after and buy the record! -

Joe 6 million votes, 76k album sales!?
Leon 4 Million votes 150k album sales,
Steve 150k album sales and apparently won most of the live shows...Where's the logic.
Eoghann Quigg won 6 live shows and his album didn't even do 10k and his single didn't even touch the Top 50!?!
What are people voting on? You vote for someone as you think they're a good singer and you would buy their album and you want that album so they need a record deal and you give them that record deal with votes basically...

When will females and young girls let sanity not their hormones control their votes.

There is no way Cher was the weakest performer tonight and I'm no Cher fan.Looks like people had already decided who they were voting for long before the show started.

Exactly.

And I completely agree with the OP too. It's an absolute joke-people are so damned stupid. I mean look at Leona she won her year by something like 52% - Ray Quinn's 48%. It's just ridiculous.

What?! A lot of people vote for Rebecca, especially female. Also, I didn't vote for Joe. So HAH
And I vote for One Directon because I think they're god singers. Looks come in the package, and don;t influence me. FGS. Also, I get bored by Rebecca, bt not by One Direction or Matt. So again. HAH.

So far, teenage females are really coming under it by people on here.... just sick.

People will get to know and like artists throughout the entire series. Nobody is gonna vote on the performances in the final truth be told. Most of us have made up our minds based on how they performed all series, its just human nature.

Matt is my winner, and has been from his original audition. He has been consistently terrific throughout the series.

We all have our favourites, thats all there is to it.

People are not seeing the point in what i am saying, not every female will vote with their feelings, but some vote on talent. So the above, it's not about that! I am saying, ALOT of females will have voted for Matt and One Direction because they fancy them not because they think they are good singers.

Why dont these votes from teenage girls mainly translate in to record sales?

OP, you are generalizing, not all females act the way you are suggesting. I have voted for females, I voted for Alexandra not JLS and they were ''fit young men''. I voted for Olly last year because I like him more than Jo. I voted for Andy Abraham not Shayne Ward who was ''fitter'' than AA.

I like Matt this year because I like the way he performs, heartfelt and he makes me feel the emotions when he sings.

So I don't like the acts because of how fit they are.

The amount of votes cast bears no relationship to records sold.

Many people who vote, vote more than once, whereas they'll only by one record/download.

The OP's premise is a bit moronic, as the majority of voters have always been female and so have the most successful winners. Obvous troll is obvious.

There's a lot of truth in your post OP but fortunately, there are exceptions. I.e. I'm female amd I'v voting Rebecca.

:yawn: Maybe when pathetic wind up merchants stop posting pointless, stupid, worthless, misogynistic threads like this. Have a lager and go to bed, child.

Well I vote for my favourite every year and always show my support when they release music. Loved Shayne Ward and have his albulm, loved joe and have his albulm. Rhydian i bought his stuff and the same with JLS. Not a teenager but an adult but still resent that fact that people tend to generalise. I want Matt to win this year and if he does I shall be buying all his releases!

People vote for who they like and or whatever reason, OP. You just gotta get over it. When you get a little bit older you'll realise that not everyone should think the same way you do. But for now, my dear, you will have to deal with your anger issues.

One way of doing this is having a chuckle at the ALOT monster.

I asked the same question and no one seems to take the xfactor seriously, they treat it like Big Brother. They'll vote but wont buy the music, which seems pointless.

However, I do believe 1D's fan will purchase their music.

She gave the best performances, it was close to being as good as her audition.
