I hope it won't be a Lisa and Brendan type showdance. To be fair though, we don't know how inventive James will be and how inventive he can be. If he pulls out something amazing, everyone will be impressed. Meanwhile we have already see Kara and Artem do showdance type dances. How is he going to top it?

If the both have made it to the final.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I think we are in for a real treat next weekend whichever of the couples are there.

Common you know you want to see that. I'm sure whoever goes through we might become more familiar with their anatomy than with our own.

Otherwise I agree, I think all couples left are capable of pulling something good out of the bag, and there were 4 very good dancers left, this means that at least 2 very good dancers should be in the final (and Gavin has some wow dances he could repeat if he made it through).

Actually someone has already pointed it out above, she isn't. Lisa was multiple times in the dance off and in the bottom two. It was pretty obvious that she was a goner and kept in by the judges. We don't know the same about Pamela as she hasn't been in the bottom two so far. So for all we know she might have toped the public's leader board every time.
Possibly a first if no one in the final has ever been in the drop zone on the results show.
I have to agree with the Sonic a little bit though, I think Pamela has been given a leg up the leader board and hence a bit of judges' protection, it's just that without the dance off, the 'keep her in' bit comes via overmarking rather than being saved in a dance off. ( which incidently I think would have followed the same pattern as Lisa )

Are you deliberately trying to make me part company with my breakfast?

Well it could be depending on who went through. It is possible that the judges have done that, yes. I think she might not have needed the overmarking and sometimes I wish they hadn't. However someone called thenetworkbabe gave a good explaination of why the judges may have voted the way they did (related to natural limitations and what the dancers can achieve). I think it always happens that the judges are more picky with the people who have the potential to be much better, and more generous with those who have worked hard to reach their potential. IMO Matt hasn't fulfilled his, whereas Pamela probably went as far as she can. Kara almost went as far as she can, if she overcomes the little mistakes she will be mindblowing, whereas Pamela can never reach Kara's standard. Hope that makes sense.

If I feel down, I watch that clip and I'm just laughing my socks off. It was brilliant.

I think the judges have done Pam no favours. Assuming she goes through, I think she may well have an uphill battle against the others for the public vote. Everyone I know finds her very fake and annoying and simply would never pick up the phone. I see no reason that my friends and colleagues are the only ones. This, combined with the judge's pet stuff won't help her at all. If she could tone down the strained 'californian happy' personality and Dr Pamela, married to Billy Connolly stuff, she would help her cause considerably.

Whilst we're at it, the Beeb's love-in with Billy C. is almost more annoying than the judges' overmarking.
Could not agree more

If Pamela gets to the final I feel her showdance will let them down.
I think Natalie & Artem are far more innovative in their choreography than James is.
If they get to do the showdance I see it more as a Tom / Camilla type showdance rather than a bacofoil nightmare! Although, assuming Kara and Artem are through, I can't wait to see what they come up with The thought that Aliona might be choreographing a showdance is giving me nightmares already though....

It could be that they take her age into account. Coming from that point of view she is doing amazingly well.
They shouldn't be taking ANYTHING into account. She's either better than anyone else, or she's not. Personally, I don't think Pamela's better than Kara, and I find her routines boring compared to the edge in Kara's and Matt's performances (even Scott when he's on form).

If you take age into account, then you also have to take into account illness, injury etc., and they don't, so age should have nothing to do with it.
