Coming 4th: Cher's ideal outcome.
As a big Cher fan, I was very happy with her placing.
Firstly, she made the final and that's a big two fingered salute to the small minority of obsessive bullies who have tried to convince us all season that she's hated by everyone and won't go anywhere. They've been categorically proven wrong. More importantly, Cher is now free from the repressive chains of a SyCo contract. I'm sure Cowell gets first refusal on a contract, but since she didn't win, she'll be less micro-managed than whatever poor sod ends up with the SyCo curse, sorry, contract. There will be less pressure on her to deliver the goods, and greater creative freedom, I would hope. Cher will undoubtedly release an album and if she gets the guest appearances right, it could well be very successful indeed. |

I'm not really understanding The Final. Last week was the semi-final. So, if last night was The Final, what's tonight? The Final Final?

I swear I've read the same thing by fans of Tabby, Eton Road, Ben Mills, Jamie Afro.
The world's still waiting. And Louis said in NOW magazine that Simon had promised Cher a record deal regardless of where she came in the competition weeks ago. Either way I wouldn't get too excited. |

Last nights first part of a two part final. One Dirdction: when are they going to learn to sing as a group....boring Matt Cardle: would I pay to see him in concert, NO, boring man with a large ego. Rebecca Ferguson: Lovely recording voice for late night smoky jazz-type songs. If I went to her concert I would fall asleep...no charisma whatsoever. I feel like putting a key in her back and winding her up to get some movement on stage. Cher Lloyd: Now, she gave the best two performances of yesterday's final. Would I pay to go to her concerts YES YES YES...would be lively eventful affairs. I like the way she has not gone down the boring route by toeing the line on the X Factor. She has stayed herself throughout the series: called integrity. |

All contestants are under contract for 2 years now so are limited in what they can do.
Once that time is up they are usually forgotten - as history as shown |

And wrong again. The top 9 who are goin on tour are all under contract until after the tour is completed and Simon gets refusal. Then its about 4 months after the tour for anyone who got into the finals. Last night was the finals round 1, so Cher is still under that clampBesides, Cher hasnt shown any proper artistry at all this season. It's easy to mash up 2 songs and do a dance number, but it'll be a whole new story trying to write an album for her byebye Cher! |

Once that time is up they are usually forgotten - as history as shown I figured they signed with modest management for a year, probably with options in management company's favour to renew when the next years x factor starts but most of them dropped at the end of that year. |

Cher will do well because she's the first artist of her type to reach the final, I'm expecting big things for Cher what a dull lifeless final this will be.

And even though she's gone, people who don't like Cher still getting wound up at the thought of Cher being successful
seriously it's quite amusing how angry people can get

Cher was the only contestant who had stage presence.
Matt is a good singer - but I could not watch him all of the time (though I hope he wins now) Rebecca is also good - but not perfect. Last night her voice was vibrating. One Dimension - say no more - I am fed up with these miming little Thunderbirds |

two years! are you serious? no wonder most of them have never been heard from again.
I figured they signed with modest management for a year, probably with options in management company's favour to renew when the next years x factor starts but most of them dropped at the end of that year. I too thought it was for one year. Two seems pretty harsh/OTT. I did post a thread about the contract and how it works. Can a record Company 'buy them out'. I'd love to know the ins and outs of the contract. I recall there being something about not being able to 'diss' SC. Any more anyone? |

Just as long as she isn't forced on me every Saturday night. I know, I could have just switched off, or go make a cuppa, which i usually did. I don't want to see her again is all. |

Winning would certainly not have been ideal for Cher, and I think she handled her exit very well indeed. Any winner will be micro-managed and will never be able to fully move on from the X-Factor: for some acts that's not too much of a millstone, for someone like Cher, though, it'd be a killer.

Plus she wouldn't be signed to syco on it's own, more likely a joint deal
