This is what I had from the bbc.
Dear Mr Leadbeater
Reference CAS-436592
Thanks for your e-mail regarding ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, broadcast on BBC One.
I understand that you are unhappy that Ann Widdecombe is still a contestant on the programme.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is an entertainment show and, although a dancing competition, it isn’t always the best dancers who capture the hearts of the voting public. Although not everyone may agree with the public’s vote, or indeed the judges' votes, the show has always made sure that both have a say in who should continue on in the competition.
Feedback like your own helps to inform the discussion about our programme’s content. The reactions of our audiences are closely studied by programme makers and their senior management to ensure the right judgement is being made about what’s acceptable to the audience in general.
I'd like to assure you that I've registered your complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, programme makers, channel controllers and other senior managers.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.
Thanks for taking the time to contact us.
Kind Regards
Mark Roberts
