Is 01 at the end a lucky number?
Tall Paul

It seems to me that a couple that has 01 number at the end bar 1 gets into the final thus is a lucky number. Anyone noticed it?

The only one I for definite remember as being 01 was Tom & Camilla - but it probably tallies with the first one out on the first show who always made it to the final until last year.

That's nothing to do with luck. First show, first dance the producers want a WOW start. Stands to reason they'll put on one of the best couples.

It was a 'rule' for some time that the person who danced first on the first show always made the final but that rule was broken in either 6 or 7 cant remember which

Mark and Karen's number was 13! They danced the Viennese Waltz in the final with a large 13 stuck on Mark's back!

Ooh, here's a better conspiracy theory:

Anyone else notice that BT, SF and Kara all appear in that order in the opening credits?

Not really. Darren and Matt D both went out first (and Julian I think) and they kinda sucked.

I think the real advantage is that some people get the number wrong... They want to vote for couples 11 to 16, but they chuck an extra zero in before the last two digits and end up voting for couple 01. I remember there was a thread about it in series four or five- one person was convinced the vote was rigged until it emerged she was dialling the wrong number!
