Yes - and they show perfectly how it's demonstrably ludicrous. ![]() Bruce Forsyth may not be everyone's cup of tea but normally an artiste doesn't have a career spanning 8 decades if they have no talent. |

My husband and I watched it and I had to leave the room when Brucie did his "song" - it was so awful.

I'm sure that if the BBC were of the opinion that he was detrimental to the show, they'd not sign him up again. He's still more of an asset than Claudia "Airhead" Winkleman who was about as much use as one woman missing!!! The whole point is that this is family entertainment - you'll notice that he always addresses "ladies, gentlemen and children" at the start of the show - so if the show is aimed at a demographic which cuts across age generations and intended to appeal to the whole family I see no reason why he should be put out to grass, just to wheel in a newer model. There are enough younger people associated with the show as it is so why does everything have to cater for one demographic group only? The BBC rightly has been criticised for its ageist treatment - usually of female broadcasters - so I don't see why they should get rid of Bruce Forsyth when he is still performing perfectly well. At least he is sufficiently self-aware to make fun of his own errors. |

He was the worst he has ever been this weekend.
I had to change the channel when he started 'singing'. |

He really needs to retire now. That "performance" was embarassing.
I get the impression the producers are scared to say no to him; because it's Brucie's show an' all. |

It's called "Strictly Come Dancing" - not "Brucie's Strictly Come Dancing" - so it isn't his show at all.

So, when he says "It's time to meet the stars of our show", you think he's referring to himself do you?
![]() OK then.... ![]() Far too much fuss about the presenter. Brucie's ok at least he cares more about dancing than his ego. |

He has always treated the celebs and pro dancers as the stars and that is how it should be.
Far too much fuss about the presenter. Brucie's ok at least he cares more about dancing than his ego. His humour may not be to everyone's taste - my own included - but it is generally self-deprecating and not dubious in content. If he targets anyone other than himself, it tends only to be the judges. They all look as if they can cope with it.

Brucie went past his sell by date several years ago. He's now festering at the back of the fridge covered in green furry stuff and scaring unsuspecting children who happen to poke their noses round the door.
Despite this, I think I'd miss the old giffer. His "comedy" act may have been written as a postscript to the ten commandments but he cares about the show, he knows about the genre and he brings genuine warmth. In a strange way, it works - and who knows what we might get as a replacement? |

Was a good excuse to have Ola on. If nursery rhymes had a girl like that in, I'd have come on a lot quicker in my reading. But why'd he have to sing? "The Entertainer" would have been fine, and it's got no words in it...
