I'm sick of knowing media types winning reality tv shows. The sort who phone up the paps before they leave their home.I want a winner I can respect. Hopefully Matt will succeed next week. Its time for class to shine through for a change.

I don't think any of the finalists are 'media whores'.....so let best dancer win it. Kara is the class act a far as dancing goes, but will she be the best on the night...............???.


BTW - respect should be earned, not just given for being on a TV show.........

I can't think of a strictly winner who's gone on to do anything other than what they've done before???

Matt inherits a lot of votes from being on Countryfile and The One Show, regardless of his talent as a dancer. He is the one with the most exposure on tv (the most important part of the media) and has some inherent advantage stemming from that.

Well I haven't seen Matt. Kara or Pamela pop up in the press being papped on their doorstep and I thought they were the only ones in the final... or have I perhaps missed a fourth finalist.

And his audience isn't a tabloid or a celeb mag one so there would be no point paping him unless he was doing something that contrasted with the BP image.

It must really have been awful for a "non media lover" like Matt to see his face plastered across the front cover & a double page spread in the Mail on Saturday mag on the day of the SCD semi final then, lol ! How THAT could have damaged his chances of getting into the final hahahaha.

Then I suggest you stop watching reality TV shows.

Let's see: -

Matt is on Countryfile & the One Show, has done Blue Peter & Secret Britain.

Pamela has her column in the Guardian & is married to Parky's favourite guest and recently had a birthday.

Kara WAS on EE and has done a documentary about dyslexia.

Matts job is purely as a media presenter therefore selling himself to the public is his full time job. Kara is an actress and Pamela a doctor. They are all media savvy but Matt is the only full time media personality rather than a person with a day job which requires them to work with the media to promote themselves.

So, shock horror, they're all media types. Even St. Matt of Baker.

Matt, on the other hand, was presenting Countryfile (and before that BP), winning two BAFTAs. In that sense he's more of a seasoned media personality than Kara! Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Oh this isn't very nice. Matt is all over the media. I haven't noticed any of the other contestants falling into your definition.

If you are implying Kara, then you couldn't be more wrong. She has done no more media than other celeb - probably less than Pamela - and stamped on two fabricated (and sensational) pieces to prevent unwarranted attention.

Matt has by far the highest profile of the three. And neither Kara nor Pamela have jobs at the BBC (indeed, Pamela doesn't appear to have any desire to return to performing at all).

I'm sure Kara wouldn't have had to do modelling work at all if she'd got more acting jobs. But them's the breaks ... I don't think that was about increasing her media profile. I'd say it was about earning money.

If the OP wants Matt to win, fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But they seem to have a rather strange view of the world, and of Matt. To have progressed as far in his career as he has, he must be 'media-loving', surely?

I didn't say she wasn't in the media. I just don't think she's been in the media anymore than anyone else.

You try to find recent pap shot of her that are of the pre-arranged type insinuated by the OP - you'll be disappointed.
