I agree with what everyone is saying on here about Enders and I for one would love to see this show capture some of it's former glory that we're all used to seeing. I've watched the show since it started back in 1985 and never have I been less interested in the storylines, characters or general direction the show is taking. In fact you can tell something is wrong when I'm more interested in dissecting what's wrong with it on sites like this instead of watching it and enjoying it.

Anyway I'm digressing and I'm also whinging again but I think it's time we stopped all that and actually did something about it. There are enough people on here posting negative comments about the show for us to make a difference so it's time to put words into action.

The best way to do this is to get the support of the media. Now there has already been an on-line survey calling for Louise Berridge to be axed but we need to do something more general and a little less hatefilled. Yes the main problem of the show has to be the direction that Young & Berridge are taking it but that's the BBCs problem, not ours. We just need them to notice how unhappy we are.

How about another on-line survey which basically lists out plain & simply why we believe Eastenders is heading the same way as Brookside. It's need to be constructive, thought-provoking and also be sensible enough to be taken seriously. We then need to get it signed by hundreds of people. Once we get the ball rolling we then send links to the sight too various sections of the media who thrive on soap gossip; The Daily Stars Soaper Star section, Inside Soap magazine and then mediaguardian.co.uk. That way, the BBC will slowly but surely, sit up and take notice. Put it like this, the survery needs to attract the signitures of celebrities who have also lost faith in the show too. The more we get, the more seriously we'll be taken.

So who's in and what do you all think?

The first thing is to get some web space and then we need to write a passionate plea as to why we are doing this. It needs to be well constructed and avoid shock or hatefilled tactics.

LB is obbsesed with her show and believing she is right after winning soap of the year, her head is fit to go boom. She is not going to listen to any fan, not while she has the power, and the introduction of strippers is hardly gonna make it better. Unless its someone stripping LB of command.

Well it appears that the soap has lost the support of TheSun at last, so I'd say LB's days are well and truly numbered. Remember when the Sun turned against the Tories?

the best way to protest is to stop watching it, that would have the most promising affect.

i have to say i for one would be happy to see eastenders go off air for a few months to sort its self out and insted of it, the slots could be used to either show old episodes or soap bubbles of some of the characters past, such as Nigel in Scotland or Grant in Brazil or where the hell Bianca is and what the hell she is up to these days. Or even Joe Wickes in a mental institue lol !!!! - just my idea though, so don't mob me with negative comments.

Personally I think the general public should bottle her in the street if they see her then leave her for dead and she'll be replaced by default. It's the ONLY way.

Alternatively, just get a hitman. You KNOW it makes sense

Hah, I don't think this service will be running long. Once they realise how unvaried the complaints are (97% of emails directed at EE, should do it!) they'll have realised their mistake.

Lol, ok Drifter.. maybe we'll put your idea down as Plan B for the moment, yeah?

Regardless of how 'tongue in cheek' this comment is, the promotion of illegal activities is against the forum Terms and Conditions

I stopped watching the "soaps" a couple of years ago, I used to watch all of them, or video them and watch them later, but as the number of weekly episodes increased it became harder and harder to justify the time out of ones life to watch them all,so..., I went cold turkey and stopped watching them all completely, and consequentaly my viewing of t.v. dropped dramatically as so much primetime t.v. is devoted to soaps. BUT, when Den came back I picked up with EastEnders again, but now am going to stop watching again SO AWFUL IT IS, I am appauled at myself for actually sitting through it. Where to start the whole THUG thing.... from Grant and Phil to Den and Dennis and Andy Hunter, all this in one tiny square nah, Sam's transformation?, it's all too ridiculous, and both Mal Young and Louise Berridge are too arrogant to see any faults, so thats it! If we all stop watching and it gets beaten in the ratings and the new DG sees this maybe heads will roll and things will get better, perhaps if they employed some authentic writers instead of ex-comedians and double barreled Islington types then it would be believable, even Pam St.Clement and Adam Woodyat complained about the show on the C4 prog on Saturday night!
So bye for now Albert Square, I'm off to water my tomatoes!
