I absolutely adore Pamela. I think she is great and an inspiration for women.
Why is she an inspiration? She's not an inspiration to me, although I think she's doing very well. I've got no desire to dance, but I'm a similar age to Pamela and every bit as active in my own chosen areas. Most women don't really need inspiration. They're doing fine under their own steam.

Absolutely , I agree , I dont doubt that at all .What I am saying is that post said " an inspiration to women " and I was explaining not to generalise and presume its for all of us ,
We all percieve things differently and I am convinced that much of it is to do with who we associate people with . I associate Pamela with the nuns who made my life a misery !! LOL .All smiles and sweetness and behind it all hard and mean !
Well, it (sometimes) seems to me (but probably not to everyone else) that it's necessary (or maybe just optional) to add a conditional "some" to anything (or maybe just some things) that's written on (some) forums.

The whole point is that you cannot impose inspiration on anyone; being inspired actually involves the wilful reception and participation of the person who is being inspired. Ergo, by logic alone, you cannot inspire anyone who is actively resistant to it.

So, she can be considered to be "an inspiration to women but only those who choose to be inspired by her" - but you'd possibly have to agree that the sentence becomes rather unwieldy ........ (or possibly not)?

Don't rule out Pamela completely. A lot of people I know are now voting for her, I think she's more popular than people think. Most of my colleagues were strong Matt supporters to start with, and most still are, but they are now getting a soft spot for Pamela as well.

Dismiss her at your peril...

I think Susie is saying in a roundabout way that Pamela ain't no inspiration to Ann.
