Did the footage lose it for Scott?

I wonder if that video footage of Scott saying he was tired didnt help him. He then forgot his dance (which Matt D'Angelo did but with no long term bad effect) which Scott recovered from the next week. But by then I think everyone was thinking "oh he's tired" and looking for evidence. I think the contestants who do actually have jobs all look tired - Matt looks gaunt and bad skin compared to his usual healthy form. All I am saying it maybe didnt help Scott- will miss him in the final as that jive was a thing of beauty!

Only Kara and Scott have performed routines I want to see again, so in that respect it is a shame Scott didnt make the final. However, he peaked with that Jive and the high energy he brought to the dancefloor in the first 2/3rds of the series was never seen again after Blackpool.

If he had said in his footage he was tired, but then came out and gave us belting SF routines, you may have a point. As it was, his dancing on both Friday and Saturday was lacklustre so I believe it was that which lost him a SF place.

Thankfully, we have youtube, so we can watch repeat performances before the guy got too knackered

I don't think forgetting a dance is necessarily a bad thing. Matt Di Angelo forgot his dance in the quarter finals, but came back strong in the semis.

Scott forgot his AS, the thing he feared most, as he said he was still cringing over his forgotten lines in the live telecast of EastEnders, and I think ever since there is a fear in him that he'll forget the steps again. I mean, I am surprised that the judges said they enjoyed his Charleston, because he looked absolutely petrified and tried very hard not to forget his steps, his smiles was so forced. And Alesha had the cheek to say Matt had a forced smile in his AS (not that Matt look great in AS, that dance has all the huh?-factor!).

I think what lost it for Scott was suddenly taking on twelve hour filming days half way in to the competition.

He didn't just look tired, I'm sure he was bloody tired. Perhaps he didn't think he would still be in it when that storyline kicked in but twelve hours of filming followed by hours of dance practice followed by very little sleep is not a great recipe for success.

Thank you Miss Minervois for posting that - will enjoy watching again!

For me it's the combination of the knackered-ness and the resultant dip in form that cost him a finalist place, but Scott and Natalie have produced some great dances and were highly worthy semi finalists.

Or was it being dressed as a huge toddler in his sailor suit?

I thought Scott was surprisingly, deliciously good for the first couple of episodes but then, for me, his perfomances were either 'no improvement' or downright bad.

I LOVED his jive, it was fabulous. Have to say that, other than the jive, I never really saw anything that special from him though. Not even the VW, which I found rather meh. I liked him a lot but he was over-rated, particularly by the judges.

So no, I don't think it was the footage. I very much doubt that voting turns on a dime like that.

Im very sad today that Scott has gone. I know he was tired and probabkly didnt deliver enough last weekend but I really thought he had the potential at the start. His QS, VW, Tango, Jive, Waltz, Salsa (and even his Rumba) I enjoyed a lot.

It looked like it was lack of sleep what done it. A couple of times in one dance he blanked out for almost a second. Was he dancing through the night?

I hope for the final he does a re-do of the AS. Be nice to see it as it was intended.
At his best he was brilliant.

I think he lost momentum. I don't know what happened possibly the work schedule but it all seemed a chore and he looked exhausted. Also whenever he spoke he sounded defeatest almost as if he wanted it all to come to an end.
It's a shame because I thought his Jive was fantastic and I absolutely love Natalie, I think she's a fantastic choreographer.
