I love Billy Connolly but come on....

Maybe its cos i watched all 3 of the weekends shows back to back last night but how many times did they show Billy on screen? And I know Bruce is friends with him but to have every joke revolve round him instead of Pamela? Even Tess asks Pamela for Billys reaction/opinion (cue another close up of Billy).
Am i just picking up on this cos he's a "famous" partner. Correct me if i'm wrong but, in the weekend audience, we saw Matts wife maybe twice; the girl who played Chelsea in EE twice (could be for Kara or Scott); and didn't see anyone who could've been a Gavin supporter.

Has he a special seat for the show. He seems to be there every week.

Well I loathe Billy Connolly and I'm sick of the sight of him and the constant references to him. Apart from anything else it's rather unemancipated for a woman to be defined by her husband so much

Not to mention THE OTHER MAN IN HER LIFE, James. Yes, yes, you're married to Billy and you like teh sex. Enough already.

Kara's sister gets quite a lot of screen time when she's in the audience, probably because her current squeeze is Joe Thomas from the Inbetweeners and he comes along as well. Showmances must run in the family!

I thought he had only made it to one show prior to the SF. Two at most.

I'm sure he is bunging the Panel bribes to get his missus those tens....ok, she's good but MUCH slower (and less difficult) dances than Kara!

Any well known partner is shown frequently when in the audience. Remember Rod?

Talking of Billy, I thought it was unfair of Bruce to say he will be dancing in he final if Pamela makes it through - even if it was a joke...it was a joke wasnt it?

Why's he there, anyway?

Is he married to one of the contestants or something?

Maybe he's taking part next series. I'd say he's a pretty nifty mover

I heard that too Smokeychan - I was at the TV shouting that is a BLATANT attempt to shoehorn Pamela into the Final. For those that like Billy Connolly obviously...

Billy is ex-para (albeit TA), and apparently he 'did' a tour of Cypress. (Not a comedy tour btw...).

Rav Wilding was also ex-para...

Para's can't dance.

I used to like Billy Connolly about twenty years ago when his act contained a lot of humour and a small amount of profanity.
I also enjoyed his World Tour of Scotland series for which I bought the video set.

Lately his act seems to include a lot of profanity but only bits of it are funny.

I don't bother to watch him any more.

I would like to see some mention that some of the cast from the inbetweeners were there preseumably to support Kara seeing as one was her sister and rumored bf.

What is it with that family and dating co-stars not that I blame them

well his DVD is selling well at Amazon, so he is getting something out of it.

Well, I for one certainly don't love Billy Connolly and am fed up with the constant references to him by Bruce and Pamela and constant shots of him whenever he is in the audience. The BBC and judges seem to be in awe of him and perhaps think everybody loves him, which may be why they have been desperately trying to get her to the final.

However, despite the fawning of the judges, she's got no chance of winning.

I can't stand Billy Connolly and have never found him terribly funny (even in his heyday, which was a very long time ago).
I'm not sure I particularly 'like' Pamela, either; however I do think she dances extremely well, not simply for a woman of her age (though that is obviously true), but for well-nourished woman who does not have the naturally lithe, dainty build of a professional dancer. I'm not interested in seeing any more of her or her husband on TV in the future, but she's got my support while this series of Strictly lasts because I think she's genuinely earned it.

I can't say that either Billy Connolly or Pamela Stephenson frequently appear on television as a general rule anyway. They scarcely fall into the omnipresent gurning mush brigade such as the Jonathon Rosses, Fearne Cottons and Davina McCalls of this world.
