I remember Tom and Camilla very well. The showdances aren't always my favourites from a series.

I expect fireworks from Kartem. Hopefully upbeat.

I expect angst from Maliona because that's what Aliona seems to enjoy. More contemporary dance than ballroom/Latin and a bit earnest if their AS (ha!) is anything to go by.

Pam and James full on act yourself silly Fringe (that's Fred and Ginger to you...).

I do expect them all to be at least very good and possibly exceptional.

The show dances have mostly faded from my memory, but I have tended to enjoy them all. I can recall really enjoying Tom's & Matt de A's

The two that really stick (for the wrong reasons) are (obviously) Lisa & Brendan, and Colin & Erin

The one I may be alone in not enjoying much was Alesha's - I felt she was just tossed around for 2 minutes, and she didn't actually dance that much.

I'm expecting character from Pamela, acrobatics from Matt and something special from Kara

Tom & Camilla by a mile, although at the time I wanted them to win so badly I was convinced they were going to mess it up so didn't watch it until after the judges comments! It was just so different from anything anyone had ever done before (or since) and suited them down to the ground.

I remember loving Ian & Zoe's too, and Matt & Flavia.

Lisa & Brendan's will always hold a special place in my heart too, although for the wrong reasons

Worst - *laughs* The Bacofoil Dance of Doom. I cannot think of one good thing about this dance....except for the DS You Tube video that was created from the Lisa's Showdance? Thread. (Which was the reason I joined DS in the first place!)

Special Mention to Chris and Ola. I knew he had won once Ola started screaming MASHED POTATOES through his legs.

Hopes

Pamela & James - I want Bacofoil Meets Cougar Meets Pole Dancer Meets Nipple Tassels Meets Crowd Surfing Madness from these two. Do NOT disappoint me Jamela!

Matt & Aliona - I expect a polished and professional gymnastics display interspersed with a contemporary interpretation of the struggles of The War Against Terrorism. Perhaps Matt will come as George W Bush and choke on a Pretzel for the big finish whislt backflipping into Craig's lap?

Nah. It'll be good. But I doubt it will like the Crazy Fire you need in a showdance.

Kara & Artem - if they dont have wild animalistic monkey sex on the dance floor I will be VERY unhappy!

Nah. It'll be outstanding. If it isnt, I will be writing an official complaint and will constantly create Artem is not just rubbish he is a **** threads.”

The only two showdances I've ever enjoyed were Tom & Camilla's and Alesha & Matthew's. Basically because while there were lifts, they weren't the focal point - it was more about dancing for the title. That's what I like.

All the rest either bored me or provoked a long-lasting giggling fit, which in the case of Brendan & Lisa still hasn't really ended.

Noticed Claudia mentioned tom and camilla's showdance tonight on ITT. I think it would probably win a poll for favourite showdance if there was one.

This weekend I am expecting acrobatics from Matt, dance perfection from Kara and a showdance for Pamela which will surprise everyone I am hoping James plays to her strength and choreographs something like thier AS with different elements of ballroom and some lifts.

I can see Pamela & James doing this.

I don't think i would be able to stop laughing if Aliona did a routine like that Max and Erin routine on dwts!! Although fingers crossed she'd do something great.

Matt and Flavias was my favourite

I don't really have a least favourite, but most memorable is definitely Lisa and Brendan

I'm looking forward to seeing this weekends though....I expect we'll get a lot of lifts and tricks.

I remember hating colin's, darren's, mark's
loved zoe, matt d
alesha's was ODD

expecting cheese with an extra helping of cheese from pammie
god alone knows what aliona will choreograph
and kara and artem should frankly just boink each other in the middle of the floor - I'd still vote for that

Can't stand Apollo and Julianne's showdance. Seriously if people think Chris Hollins didn't deserve to win they should see who Apollo beat.

My favourite showdances (in no particular order):

Alesha & Matt
Matt DA & Flavia
Tom & Camilla

I raved about Tom & Camilla's showdance at the time because it was Camilla's moment and because I thought the other showdances were the antithesis of everything I want a showdance to be, but I've read a few negative things about it since that have made me rave about it a bit less.

Least favourite has to be muppetgate.

I hope this year's showdances are just fun freestyle affairs with lots of actual dancing/nice footwork and where lifts are seamlessly integrated into the dance/choreography instead of being "look at this; I can lift a dancer above my head!" things.

I think this is a great freeestle from this year's dwts with jennifer grey from dirty dancing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqaDoJogsRI

great choreography from Derek, granted he had a really obvious and popular theme to go with Dirty dancing! But for me, the greatness comes from Jennifer who just throws herself into everything. And there are lots of standout moments. Love it when he spins her round at the end.

If Pamela gets to do a freestyle and pulls it off with the same excitement and fun attitude she could win this like jennifer did. Cos people love to see older peps giving it a lot of welly.

Tom and Camillas was my favourite ever. Very original and not at all expected. Just wonderful and still one of my favourite dances ever.

Closely followed by Jill and Darrens, very simple but beautifully executed.

Mark and karens was a bit of a dissapointment after the amazing salsa and AT. I remember a few dodgy lifts and being really underwhelmed. Rickys was a bit of a let down too last year. Too many lifts... but of course it is Brendan and lisas that is also memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I liked most of that. Didn't like the bit on the judges' table where it sort-of stopped then started again (and where she broke the fourth wall).

Favourites; Darren/Lilia and Tom/Camilla.

Least favourites; Lisa/Brendan and Colin/Erin.

I think Pamela and James' will be more focused on clever choreography and humour rather than tricks.

I do have a slightly bad feeling about Matt's, I'm really hoping it's going to be good though.

I think Artem has shot himself in the foot a bit because he could either go down the tricks road and they've already done lots of tricks (and it won't be original) or do an amazing dance which will probably be too much like their AS. Just my opinion though and I'll happily be proved wrong on Sunday.

All I can remember from that dance is the bit where Mark lifted Karen above his head as if she were some kind of fleshy barbell (and Ricky & Natalies did something similar once).

I thought both of the showdances from that final (which was really a coronation for Mark & Karen) were meh; I can't remember anything from Matt & Lilia's.

Thankfully, the final from the next series was everything that that final wasn't.

Am I the only person that likes Colin and Erin's showdance?

Admittedly, at the time I had my head in my hands groaning with disappointment but I've come to appreciate it over the years. I understand what Erin was trying to do - just a shame she did it with dummies.

Anyway Tom and Camilla's showdance is my favourite, followed by Chris and Ola's. Liked bits of Alesha's, not keen on the lifts though.

Hated with a passion Matt Dawson's, Mark Ramprakash's and Matt di Angelo's. Can't remember Rachel's or Ricky's.

Let's see...

I loved Zoe's, Alesha's and Tom's - there was lifting amongst the dancing, as opposed to just moving for the next lift. They all shared a theme which unified the dance - either the music itself tied all together (Zoe's) and style of dance (Alesha's which used lots of paso and tango; Tom's using QS)

I have changed my mind on Matt di Angelo's - at the time I loathed (and still do) the one-handed lift where his hand rather disappeared. Looking back, the rest of the routine was pretty good.

I hated Colin and Erin's - it could have been so superb. I also hated Mark and Karen's; at least I hated the lift at the beginning and remember nothing else about it. Actually, at the time I think I thought it decent enough.

I have a special place in my heart for Lisa and Brendan. The perfect 80 score, as if Lisa were the most graceful and bestest dancer ever, set it up perfectly. Hubris, thy name is Lisa and Brendan.

From this year's lot:

I am expecting Pamela and James to go down the Chris and Ola route. I anticipate at least one costume change, and so much FUN!

Aliona - who knows what the hell she'll choreograph? Vampires drowning in a vat of custard? A battle between savoury custard and sweet custard? Maybe something entirely custard-free

Kara and Artem - oh how I hope there is something spectacular. Please let them not have been reading Arlene.

Tom and Camilla's the best ever for me ... and just hoping that none of the girls come out this weekend in leotards - I want to see a dance, not just lifts to some random background music! All three are capable of producing greatness ... so no pressure!

I don't think it's the most popular, but I really loved Mark & Karen's! It was a bit too showy with the lifts (but I don't like lifts!) but it was still incredibly fun. I also loved Tom & Camilla's (It was that dance that made me want them to win, since my original favourite - Austin - wasn't in the final) and Alesha & Matthew's.

To be honest, I can't remember last years properly. I remember being disappointed with Ricky & Natalie's, because there was so much focus on the lifts, and I thought Chris and Ola's was good, but time has proved that, for me at least, it was quite forgettable (All I can remember are the outfits!)

The worst one was Lisa and Brendan's! Just awful. Such a shame too, because I thought she had potential. Racel's was disappointing, because again it was so much about lifts.

As for the hopes for this series....

I think Kara & Artem could easily pull off an Alesha style dance, but with a bit more drama and intensity (though that may not do them any favours, particularly if the other finalists dance is more fun!)

Pamela & James would be great with a dance in the same kind of genre as their charleston Something a bit cheeky and fun.

Matt & Aliona.... Oh god, I have no idea. I think something along the lines of Tom & Camilla's showdance would suit Matt brilliantly. Or something that can incorporate his Samba/Charleston. He doesn't need props or sillyness to do cheeky fun dance.

All 3 have great potential, though.

Tom & Camilla definitely deserve recognition for their vaudeville showdance - if only someone had talked Erin down from the ledge when she went all Barnum & Bailey...

But BEST EVAH is definitely Matt & Flavia, I can't believe there's not more love for it - come on, that one-handed vadge lift!!

Seriously, I loved how it integrated the athleticism into the dancing unlike Ricky & Natalie, where they seemed to jolt into a "here's the money shot" move.

Also, in hindsight, I liked Alesha and Matt equally, it was the best final from that perspective because I had no feeling of stress about the result and could just sit back, relax and take it all in. Also, it was pretty clear that Alesha would win, so Matt & Flavia just seemed to go out and enjoy it,
