Any apple pie recommendation
I am thinking about making a deep filled apple pie for xmas but not sure what recipe to go for, has anyone got any recommendations.
I am also wondering mainly when to actaully make it will it keep. I go to the parents on the 24th so either I make it blinking early on the 24th or do it on 23rd or wait till I get to the parents to actually do it? bit worried it might go soggy? |

Hi, i did a hybrid of a pie and crumble for my friends over the weekend and they loved it. The pie base is made of short crust pastry so you could part bake it and keep it for a few days take it to your parents and finish it off. The filling was cooking apples, cooked down with butter, sugar and muld wine. It adds a lovely spice to it. I then filled the pie case and topped with a crumble mix I prepared. Then whack in the oven. i served it with ice cream, but it would be lovely with custard or cream.
