The Public Do Know Best

The first series without the dance off since series 4, and we have possibly our closest final since series 4. I think Kara will win but I'm not as confident with that prediction as I was with Chris Hollins or Tom Chambers, not because of their dance ability but because they were miles ahead in the public vote.*

So when it's left to the public we get a much better final.

*I love Chris and Tom, just saying they had already won before the final started.

I think Kara will edge it, but it really comes down to the dancing now, which is great.

Clearly proving the point that the public don't know best

Ann stayed in for much longer than she should have. I didn't like Jimi's Latin at all, but he did leave too soon, as his Ballroom was decent enough.

The right people have made it to the final though.

What more proof do we need that the public are morons who don't like dance but can appreciate gurning?

It was changed to become "all about the public vote" as the BBC thought this would help the ratings, as have many unpopular changes amongst dance fans been made.

"Ratings Rule"

Expect more changes next year.

I wasn't sure at the start, but given how they have treated the celebs, I am so oooooooo glad they got rid of judges deciding the dance-offs

This is true, because in the final analysis it's a popularity contest not a dance competition, isn't it?

Even more importantly, none of the finalists have ever been in the bottom two.

When was the last time that happened?

Wasn't it series 4 with Ramps and Matt Dawson? Neither of them were in the bottom two. Not sure of the years after, Alesha was in the bottom two once in 2007.

Both Alesha and Matt DiA had been in the bottom two.
