I think that just shows the power of editing. I'm not denying that James was probably a bit harsh with Georgina (I found it uncomfortable to watch as well), but nothing in a VT is ever what it seems - look at the way Matt was portrayed as storming off after the harsh comments about his salsa when he was actually running to get changed because he had about 2 minutes before he had to do the swingathon! Every other year he's been on the show James has showed genuine warmth and friendship with his partners, so I think on the evidence of 4 years versus 1 year, I don't think the past 4 years have been an act at all.

He was harsh with Georgina, I didn't like him at all that year.

However, the last 4 years he has seemed like a caring and nice guy. His arrogant comments are clearly tongue in cheek

Plus, he is rather hot
