At the risk of copping a load of abuse, the issue isn't the judges' lack of qualifications as "proper" judges. The issue is that they are employed to entertain and perform a certain role. If they were employed to judge purely objectively and say nothing, then they could doubtless judge pretty effectively the technical aspects of the dances, given the actual level at which the celebs usually perform. (Alesha might only be allowed to judge artistic impression, I guess.)

I though Craig just made up that number of hours that he said Gavin had trained.

Claudia on ITT usually gives a running total of the number of training hours and I do wonder if there is a reason for not doing that this year e.g. It varies much more widely than usual.
