Let's all sit down, and pause, and remember and appreciate one of X Factor's most lovely contestants... gentle, fragrant Verity from Series 1.

Verity was a divorcee of a certain age. Her husband had dumped her and X Factor was her "last chance".

Does anyone else remember Verity? And perhaps tell us how she has fared since X Factor?

Has she been on Jeremy Kyle yet?

Where did that lovely blind fellow go as well?

She was not a Jeremy Kyle type at all. She was a lovely sweet lady. X Factor was her last chance.

This should be in the X Factor Appreciation forum - perhaps you should ask the mods to move it for you.

No. This is the X Factor forum. This is where Verity belongs. Are you lost?

Don't bother yourself. Verity is quite happy here. This is her last chance you know.

Her version of I Will Always Love You is the most beautiful version I have ever heard. I still listen to it once every hour even now.

Can you remember how many weeks she lasted? I know she didn't make the Final.

Tragically she only lasted 2 weeks before Sharon tactically removed her after a world class performance of Wind Benath My Wings.

Only two weeks? I thought she was on for much longer. I was only a fresh faced teenager back then, but I remember asking "Mummy, who is that angel?" whenever Verity came on the TV.

So sad about the divorce.

She hasn't been googled for quite a while, I'd imagine.

Now...what are your memories of the sweet Verity?

Oops, I see spiteful old Pandorian has had the thread moved into the graveyard that is the appreciation threads section. What a shame - there is little or no intelligent thought here.

Poor old Verity. First the divorce and now this. Dumped in the deadhead section.

This was her last chance as well...

Have heart—the same thing happened with the AT for Emma Chawner.

And it's still got more views than Gamu's.

It's my own fault - I shouldn't have called it an "appreciation" thread. I should have just called it "Remembering Verity..."

Pandorian is like one of those old women who come out in the snow and ice and pour salt on the kids' slides.

That's poor Verity relegated to oblivion.

Poor Verity. I feel for her, I really do...

Verity's husband prevented her from fulfilling her dream

It was only after she divorced him that she was allowed to audition and show us her special voice.

Is anyone on Match.com. Surely we'll be able to find the unlucky in love spinster on there? Posing suggestively with a large glass of red and a hint of leathery cleavage.

You know, I've just managed to find Verity's one album she brought out after X Factor : "Has My Central Heating Just Come On Early Or Is This The Menopause?"

And, do you know, there are some really nice tracks on it, such as:

"D.I.V.O.R.C.E"

"Has Anyone Seen My Teeth?"

and (my favourite)

"My Bus Pass Is At The Bottom Of My Bag"
