Right, after nine rounds of voting we have our winner.

The Ultimate Champion of Champions 2010 is........

.... by only three points......

Mark Ramprakash

Congratulations Mark, but commiserations Jill ( ) you came so far and were, for so many, a winner.

So Mark is the 2010 Ultimate Champion of Champions. Well Done.

Thank you to all the dancers and all the voters - it really was very close all the way through, particularly towards the end!!

Look out for some fun facts about the voting to follow

Here are some voting statistics:

Jill Halfpenny came first in every round except the last two!

Generally speaking, dancers with a greater ability but not as much likability were eliminated quickly (ie. Ricky, Tom etc)

The J-word finalists/winners were not hugely popular with the votes

According to the votes (which are obviously not proportional to the voting population of scd), series 3, 5 and 6 each saw the wrong person win

Thanks for taking part!

Yippee. I voted for Mark.

I think all male contestants have a harder job because the are required to lead.

I really enjoyed watching Jill and Darren. Any contestant who has attended a drama academy also has an advantage. They have the ability to be able to interpret the mood of the dance. They have also been taught coping strategies to help deal with their nerves.

Cricket fans will know that Mark is a very shy, reserved man and the transformation during those weeks was staggering. His dancing wasn't bad either.

Thanks for organising this, flat_foot.

Didn't take part in the latter stages because I was away, but still enjoyed reading the results

Damn I missed the final round. But I would have voted for Mark so I'm glad that by not voting he didn't lose out.

My reasons for voting for him over Jill were because as much as I enjoyed her Jive it didn't give me the goosepimples of Mark's AT or the feeling of the sheer joy of dance emitted from his Salsa. Added to this he has no stage-school background so he really was starting from scratch. I'm one of those who believes (rightly or wrongly) that it's harder to look as if you're leading the dance rather than following.

Many thanks to flat_foot for doing this, it really was good fun.

Tom didn't have much likeability? That's bull, he beat Chris Hollins who is one of the most likeable contestants ever, plus he was the most popular in his series by an obvious landslide.

Some people here just have something against him

I didn't mean that I have anything against him but some of the comments afterwards were very surprised etc and also the votes for Tom were all quite low down every week and he almost always found himself in the bottom three (like Ricky did) just the people with the lowest overall scores were sometimes near the top end with one vote but then last with the next whereas Tom was consistently close to the bottom but just missing out.

I was quite surprised actually at how many people disliked him- he wasn't be favourite but I thought he was really popular with everyone else .
