£2.09 isn't that bad for a fairly small shop like that. It's only about 50p more than a proper supermarket, who will be selling far more stock with lower overheads

that is a rip off, even the constantly getting more expensive Coca Cola, isnt getting there yet, its still around £1.80 for 2 litres.

Still ive seen vending machines selling 500ml for £1.10, needless to say I went to Poundland and got 1250ml for £1 You can also get 2x500ml of Pepsi and 7up for you guessed it £1.

I can get a 500ml bottle of Pepsi for 39p in my local Heron.

Just a different system, we are a fairly heavily taxed country which pays for the public services, the alternative would be your country's system of paying insurers to cover problems.

I'm glad it's not so cheap here, or my diabetes would be even worse.

I'd drink 3lts a day if it was as cheap as over there and they have that corn syrup which is even worse.

Or economies of scale as most people would call it.

Yes I know, if you read the thread, you would know I've already posted about the Lidl deal.

But that is a special offer not the usual price.

That is what is known as a 'loss leader' in the business- something to get customers through the door
