Hi Blue, what bothered me re her, was her background, hard life, and the poor me attitude. Doesn't quite ring true. If she indeed had a hard life then moved away from it, she'd feel happier within herself, but she doesn't show that, and what's seen is an icy demeanour.

In essence, she gives people who lived in hard times a bad name, if that's how she behaves towards others, and it's what put me off her.

But the sad fact is that not everyone can become rich or successful in business.

Still, I would rate Stella (and Chris) to be on par with Simon from series 3. Taking things on board and you can count on them doing a steady job, but sales is an unknown word for them. So, quality wise this is only a step up from the aforementioned series 4 final.

That's not the opposite view. That's part and parcel of the same thing. The opposite is Stella's attitude of disrespect for anyone on her level.


Hello, I know exactly what you mean. She brings up her own little sob story so much that I thought I was watching X Factor.

I know that Thamesmead is the hole on the backside of London (at the time of the first property boom in the 80s, it was the only part of London where prices weren't rising - most of it has now been demolished and redeveloped but some of the original estate still stands and properties there are still pretty much bargain bin compared to even other surrounding areas) but many people grew up there and in places like it without the benefit of an older relative who could take them away from it as she had in her great-aunt.

I didn't see any disrespect on her part. Can you give concrete examples of her alleged disrespect?

I can't see what's so bad about how Stella behaves towards others. I've never seen her being anything other than respectful to the other contestants (with the exception of Stuart, and that was in response to his disrespectful attitude to her, and once when she gave Laura a bit of a dirty look, which was unjustified because Laura was actually giving her good suggestions at the time, though to be fair she was doing it in the authentic whining Laura manner. But that's not much under the stress of the process, and most of the others behaved worse).

I think the problem some people have with Stella is that she's clearly a rather reserved person; I think she'd have to know people pretty well before she opened up much to them. This can come across as cold, but I'm sure Stella is very different with those she does know well.

I'd personally rate Lee, Alex and Helene from series four as weaker.

Not really. While those fired earlier are the sole guest on You're Fired, much of the attention is directed towards the performance of the other contestants. Probably only about 10 minutes in those shows is actually about the evictee, whereas in this weeks, while each evictee was only on ten minutes, attention was almost entirely focused on them. So it probably works out about the same.
