The clue's in the title really, I'm currently planning how to spend my first pay packet from the job I start tomorrow. (later today, didn't realise what time it is!) I am building an order on Amazon, now standing at 16 albums to the value of £140.78. It might grow by a few albums by the time I order it, but not lots. I would price up the same order on Play, but it'd probably end up being not more than a pound or so different and for that difference it's too much effort

Don't you have any bills to pay?

Good luck with the job.

Sort of, car insurance as a named driver on Mum's policy at £50/month but I have been paying for that out of savings ATM. I'm still living at home, being 17 and in full time education. The savings are about to run out though, hence the job

Ahh so you still have the luxury of living at home. Although when you live at home having your own place seems like luxury. Anyway, just wondered how you were able to splash out. Don't forget to put, ' you are the quarry' on your album list, and to answer your question, two.

Drive carefully. m.m.

The ear can hear about 2 billion different sounds - buying all those CD's will allow you to hear about 0.001% of them.

By the way, I know someone who spent £80 on iTunes a couple of weeks ago...

The most I bought at once was when I ordered the entire back catalogue of Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson (over 20 albums). Came to just over £250.00

The next one I'll be having a go at is the back catalogue of all of Queen's albums which totals around 20 odd albums an possible if I have enough money the entire Led Zeppellin catalogue also.

I think my limit is usually five.

Don't you find that when you buy albums like that you end up hardly listening to some of them? I bought that Norah Jones record on an impulse spree and I have never listened to it.

I think that can be a danger, particularly if you have a busy lifestyle. For me, I do occasionally take stock of what hasn't been given enough spins and usually, I'll take them out to the car or refill my CD carrier for long journeys on the train. I regularly do 7 - 10 hour round trips depending on whether I decide to drive or take the train so that gives me ample opportunity to catch up.

I only ever buy a CD if its really really good - else I won't bother. If you buy about five at once, you can never guarantee the quality of all of those albums.

Most I've ever purchased in one go was probably about 5. I rarely buy albums though, so that was quite a hefty shopping spree for me - I'm more of a 'singles' guy Can't remember what albums they were exactly, but I think it was a couple of compilation CDs and a '3 for £20' in HMV - it was around the time of the BritPop era (say 1996/97)...

126..

Holiday in America in '86, I hit the second hand shops-hard...Bought a HUGE hold-all and carried them on the plane home as hand luggage.

Following year, I kept it down a bit, only 92 that year!!!

Oh yes, these were all vinyl too, no CD's....

You will only guarantee the quality of an album by hearing all of the album before you buy - a difficult task with some of what I purchase. How else will you know if an album is really good if you don't hear it beforehand?

Thankfully, I have made very few errors of judgement.

I'm very picky now-I generally won't buy anything from a band I don't know unless I've heard all or most of it, which is where downloading comes in-OK< I know some will get on their moralistic high horse and say 'all downloading is theft', but I wouldn't buy a coat without trying it on first. If I like, I buy, if I don't, I delete. I buy an awful lot of music, and there is a good percentage of that I would have paased on had it not been for the file sharing sites.

Huge holdall, you're not kidding! I hope they all made it back in one piece

I ordered my big Amazon basket the other night, and they were despatched today (make that yesterday - Friday) for delivery on Saturday, hopefully. All 19 of them.

They did..just about!!

The worst thinkg was getting them through customs....most cost only 30 or 50 cents, and I'd left the price tickets on in case I got collared, but would they have believed them??

Fortunately,, I didn't have to test it out
