Where is the Digital Spy ratings round up for the soaps?

According to Attentional, Eastenders ran 19:29 - 19:57 last night so DS will have tape checked the rating, the last 5mins will have been cut off. The 2nd Emmerdale episode will also be tape checked.

Emmerdale 1 ran 19:02 - 19:28
Eastenders ran 19:29 - 19:57
Emmerdale 2 ran 20:01 - 20:27
Coronation ST ran: 20:32 - 20:58

The breakdown from Mike doesn't even support 10.5m, unless 19:45 to 19:55 had over 11m.

Good ratings for the soaps last night and Come Fly with Me.

Wow the Derren Brown figures are quite low

Last night's tape checked rating 10.50m (42.5%) of Eastenders was the highest overnight Thursday rating since 18th February 2010 and the highest Thursday share since 2nd April 2009.

Not sure what's going on there, it is posible that there was a big peak at the end of the episode I suppose. Guess we'll have to see whether Broadcast report the same, as I believe they also tape check the ratings

the lead in show played a massive part in that IMO.
im amazed F&F is getting what it did.

I bet if something like MPD had been on first brown would have made 2.5 million.I think those weak specials he made might have dented some of his audience that last one really took a hammering from both fans/critics.

And Broadcast are reporting 10.5 million for EastEnders.

http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/rating...022075.article

Quote:
“The controversial cot death storyline, that has generated more than 6,000 complaints, is doing no harm to EastEnders audience levels.

It drew 10.5m (42.5%) in the half-hour 7.30pm slot, decimating the competition. At the time, ITV’s Tonight special - Too Young to Care: Too Much Too Young - about children who are also full-time carers interested 2.7m (10.95%) across ITV1 and ITV1 HD.

It was a high figure for the BBC1 soap, but could not quite match the 10.68m (42.9%) that watched the Tuesday night episode.”

I guess 19:29 start time does make a difference, but 700k seems like a massive difference

Good decision by the BBC to bring back Not Going Out after it was axed, almost 5 million viewers which is very decent for a sitcom filmed in front of a studio audience

Nice, must have been a huge peak at 19:45-19:57 then, followed by a sharp drop off at 19:57 - 20:00, to create an average of 9.552m between 19:45 - 20:00.

Would there be all this scrutiny of EE's overnight figures if it was CoroSt we were commenting on...?

News 6 months in advance? Crikey.

Presumably George Dixon's legacy will live on longer than we thought!

Hope he hasn't sorted the 2011 festive schedule too...

It'll be because its on the same day on Starz in America - the US channels always get their schedules out ridiculously early.

Good night for the soaps and for BBC One's comedy. If Come Fly With Me stabilises there, then I imagine the BBC will be delighted and consider it job done with the Christmas scheduling of it. Good that it also seemed to drag up Not Going Out to a pretty respectable level too.

Also, impressive stuff for the Laconia drama - nice to see cause that ones been in the making a long time.

If Corrie had done this baby swap business, and caused such outrage, probably.

Didn't Emmerdale have something similar last year with Laurel and Ashley? Looks like EE need to return to the safe ground of murder and violence.

Don't worry - they're happy to exploit her murder and put themselves as the good guys with a £50,000 reward, even though of course The Sun found somebody guilty of it last weekend and didn't think twice about exposing every detail of their life.

so unless last night's Come Fly With Me goes up massively in the official ratings it has lost almost half its audience since episode 1?

Be reasonable. It started in a plum Christmas Day slot after an episode of the UK's most popular current sitcom. Even if it was the best thing since sliced bread it was always going to lose viewers when it moved to Thursdays.

I actually think last night's figure was great for it. It's about 1m higher than what HIGNFY gets in that slot and that itself is really popular. Much harder for a sitcom to rate well so we should be applauding its performance so far, although I appreciate there are still some more episodes to go.

Really good rating for Not Going Out as well which was over 1m higher than I expected.

I was merely asking for clarification. I know 6.5m is still good for a Thursday.
but you have to wonder why the Beeb gave it such a plum opening slot and then proceeded to promote it to death. they even trailed it after Homes Under The Hammer yesterday ffs.
maybe they feared a turkey?

The brand new seasons of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: New York and NCIS continue.

In factual, Red Sea Jaws is a new documentary examining the shark attacks which took place at Sharm el-Sheikh resort in Egypt in December 2010 that claimed the life of one tourist and left four others seriously injured. Airs Tuesday 25th at 8pm.

In entertainment, one quite possibly final throw of the dice for Justin Lee Collins, signed to a golden handcuffs deal in 2009 but so far unsuccessful in generating a hit series for the network. JLC: Turning Japanese is a travelogue in a similar vein to Paul Merton in... in which the presenter attempts to get to grips with Japanese culture. The first in a 3 part series airs on Thursday 27th at 9pm.

Movies include Disney's Aladdin and The Transporter starring Jason Statham, both simulcast in high-definition on Five HD. The 1997 sci-fi thriller The Fifth Element also gets a run out, as does the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man and military drama Home of the Brave. Sci-fi classic 2001: A Space Odyssey is also scheduled.

In sport, there's no Europa League this week, but UFC action airs Tuesday morning at 12:10am.

And finally on digital, series 2 of Malcolm in the Middle arrives on FIVER, beginning Tuesday 25th at 7:35pm.
