Well that wasn't the intention of course (it was designed to be helpful) but at least it had an impact.

Happy to be of service in some small way, even if people are laughing at me.

Brilliant rating for DIY:SOS, anything over 5m against the ITV soaps is a fantastic achievement.

Great to see Not Going Out gets it highest ever audience. I just hope it finally gets the recognition it deserves.

I think the number of complaints is only high because someone in the BBC Press Office has decided to provide a running total, which has subsequently encouraged bandwagon-jumpers.

Personally, I find the storyline tedious, but I haven't felt the need to whinge to the BBC about it.

I'm pleased Not Going Out did so well but it only has CFWM as a lead in for three weeks then I imagine Mrs Browns Boys will take over.

JLC: Turning Japanese should do okay but I imagine this will be the last project for Five as the handcuffs deal ends this year.

I thought the BBC had axed Not Going Out.

jsut beeing looking at the latest Digiguide update (week 4) looks ilke ITV is propping up Primeval with some TV Burp repeats, and possibly a new series of The Simpsons on C4.

The Big Bang Theory goes into repeats

I'm sure there was a baby swap storyline in Emmerdale, although, wisely, the ITV press office didn't unveil the equivalent of a Children In Need-style totalizer to provide hourly updates on the numbers of complaints.

Plus, naturally, the Tory press didn't get involved, either.

Come Fly With Me did fine, glad it got a decent rating for its first good episode.

That probably has more chance of working than his previous shows had.

The rating that stands out to me is DIY:SOS; an excellent rating against the ITV soaps which still did brilliantly. I'd still argue that Coronation Street going first would help that hou as the big show is bringing in the viewers and providing the ratings. Martin Clunes did ok but Tonight struggled badly against EastEnders.

EastEnders itself did excellently. I cannot see Bryan Kirkwood being sacked while he's able to call on those kinds of figures. Come Fly With Me is also doing well, and like others I enjoyed the episode last night. Not Going Out used the lead in effectively.

I wonder if Famous and Fearless stay above 1m tonight...?

21:00 - Martin Clunes: Man to Manta: 3.80m (15.2%)
* 21:05 to 22:00 - 3.83m (15.5%)”

A very good rating for EE. The bad press is doing the show no harm at all. DIY SOS held up excellently against ITV1's soap hour. Corrie did well to achieve 9.7m, as I feared it could have done worse than that. Emmerdale performing solidily as ever! CFMW did well and dented the Martin Clunes show, but it was pretty much in line for what I was expecting. Going back to Corie, it should be back up to at least 10m tonight I would have thought.

nice to see CFMW doing well. At last a decent comedy which is like a more grown up Little Britain that sends up everyone from the BNP style immigration officer to the Hollywood obsessed Indian baggage handler.

Someone in the Mrs Brown's Boys thread has said it's going out on Monday nights at 10.35 from Feb 21st.

Not sure what's happening to A Question of Sport if that's true.

Slightly confused by their idea of having new episodes of Boardwalk on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday during launch week but I guess it is the flagship show.

I imagine it will settle down to a regular Saturday slot, which Sky have stated will be used for 'premieres', with repeats throughout the week.

I think what the schedule does show is that despite the huge mass market advertising campaign,Atlantic will be a relatively niche channel (although I am sure they are hoping BE will perform strongly) that exists like all of Sky's channels to drive subscriptions and add to Sky's overall appeal rather than top the ratings.

This is the latest ad, featuring Dustin Hoffman, which debuted this evening

My first thought on Sky Atlantic having seen the first week's schedule (minus daytime) is... what's the point in launching this in the form of a traditional TV channel?

The schedule is made up of a handful of (admittedly high quality) shows repeated almost endlessly. It's almost a +2 of itself. What's more, with it featuring mostly HBO stuff, the shows don't really lend themselves to a commercial TV channel due to the awkward episode lengths. Viewers over here are used to things starting on the hour most of the time, which will be a rarity on Atlantic.

I know it's not designed to be a ratings winner, but I'm struggling to see its purpose at the moment. The fact they are having to use content from Sky Movies to fill slots also speaks volumes.

Why couldn't they have just stuck Boardwalk Empire on Sky1, put the HBO back catalogue up on Sky Anytime and be done with it?

Just seems a waste of resources to me this channel when what little content it has at launch could be housed elsewhere, particularly in the form of on demand, where frankly it would be better suited.

Sky1 is falling by the wayside whilst all this is going on, and poor old Bravo got axed. I do hope it's worth it...

I thought this was odd as well.

Three new episodes in one week seems excessive for a new show, even if it is a pretty major one. And they seem to be spread quite randomly across the week as well, which doesn't help.

Wouldn't have thought so, they showed a new series in September and another in December, and that was highly unusual in itself as they normally only show one new series a year.
