I dont completey disagree however my digiguide has a marker which gives a Bart Simpsons head to any episdoe that is not marked as being of a season that hasnt already been on C4, side effect is that any unmarked seasons also get the icon, but plenty of times unmarked episodes have turned out to be new episodes.

think about it, if they are just giong to be repeats, why not mark them like everyother episode.

the Monday episode is a repeat, Tuesday - Friday is unmarked, so it COULD mean new episodes.

The DS thread on this show guided me to a clip. It doesn't look like the sort of thing that would perform well in primetime.

But it's disappointing that BBC1 should be spending money on sitcoms only worthy of a 10.35 slot. They should be concentrating in increasing the amount and quality in peak-viewing.

That is what kinda what it is like on HBO normally, having a 'premiere' night and repeats everywhere else. It will be useful to people (like me) who can't watch/record on the premiere nights

Very good figure for DIY SOS. I wonder if Human Planet will be able to get 5m in that slot next Thursday. It must have a chance. Human Planet against the soaps strikes me as good complementary scheduling.

Because Sky1 is perceived (wrongly IMO) by many as a downmarket channel and Sky want to attract more ABC1s as subscribers.

There's plenty of content on Atlantic to keep a single channel going.

There's not enough space on Anytime to put whole seasons of shows.

Strong numbers for Wipeout there, a massive improvement on what ABC had been getting in that slot although I still think Private Practice is a bit low considering the slot and it should be able to hold more of the GA audience, IMO. The Mentalist doesn't seem to be doing as well as it was - or perhaps it's just that CSI isn't dropping as fast anymore - but it continues to draw large numbers overall. Million Dollar Money Drop never really got a chance at FOX.

The story of the night, however, was Jersey Shore. Becoming MTV's most watched series telecast ever, it had 8.45m viewers and a 4.2 rating among adults 18-49 - tying Grey's Anatomy, beating everything at 10pm and only just behind The Big Bang Theory.

You can say that all you want, the BBC will not be happy with those complaints. Viewing figures, yes, but not if that complain figure keeps rising.

It's far from all good down in Albert Square and those who give the green light for the storyline could see themselves out on their ear at this rate.

The show will survive, the current creative team might not be so lucky.

Its a curious thing though how a programme is reported in the media dictates how its generally viewed. The general tone is that Eastenders is depressing sad etc, and so whenever the subject is brought up even those who never watch it will confidently say its depressing because thats what they think they are expected to say. Eastenders is on a hiding to nothing in that respect though perhaps the planners dont help themselves.

Even in the episode where the Baby died there was lighter moments with all the locals seeing in the new year
and they had quite a bit of community spirit in that episode
too.
These days there is a lot more humour and lighter moments in the square.
Like you say people say it's doom and gloom even if they don't watch it

Penn & Teller could be a hit... much better than The Magicians and I'm actually just being honest.

Penn and Teller was great - I'm not sure how it will do in that slot, but it deserves to do well. Ten times better than The Magicians.

I think the pacing was better. It didn't feel like an ITV1 show, it felt like a BBC One show. In fact, the two channel's offerings seem suited to the other channel - the BBC's full of "celebrities" assisting, cr*p host and slightly poor pacing; ITV's well paced, adult, with a touch of class and ... a slightly less cr*p host...
