Monday - 471,000
Tuesday - 480,000
Wednesday - 522,000
Thursday - 459,000
Friday - 444,000

By no means excellent, but it could be doing alot worse, and there is nothing to suggest Neighbours would be doing better. There is no way Neighbours would match that impressive Wednesday rating.

Regional News will take the time slot,either next week, or the week after.

So at the moment not too many eggs on faces. It depends if the Regional News sinks or swims reallty. If Neighbours on ELEVEN gets more than the News on TEN...

Its summer, and there has been no eggs to break, neither Neighbours or Regional News is on air, its not the time to be wondering if this is good move or not.

I really dont know what TEN expects from Neighbours, its something ive struggled to put a number on, but yes its going to look bad if Neighbours does out rated Regional News, but im not sure thats likely.

IIRC pre-Christmas ELEVEN wasn't performing superbly so I'd say anything around 200,000 would be good for the channel, if not for Neighbours.

Was it just the estimates I'm remembering suggesting around 150,000 would be a good estimate by any chance?

I should give up with foreign TV - dipping in and out I forget a lot. I'll be asking how The X Factor USA rated next...

As for the 150,000 who knows what its going to be, the multichannels are capable of 300,000+ , but I do think 150,000 - 200,000 is about what Neighbours will get.

It's in the same slot as on TEN isn't it? Early evening, the news on other channels always being consistent. I'd rephrase what I said earlier - 200,000 would be good for ELEVEN there, but not for Neighbours...maybe...

im really not sure what would be good for ELEVEN, but I expect Neighbours to be its highest rating show, everything else is an import. Daytime is filled with classic CBS shows (CBS owns 1/3rd of the channel)

Im quite sure TEN is expecting that ELEVEN will have a 3% share, and be challanging for a place in the Top 3.

Neighbours is going to tank on ELEVEN, even the adverts for the new station seem to be focussing on other programmes rather than Neighbours and while I have been in Australia I have seen a lot more adverts for the return of home and away, despite watching TEN more than SEVEN.

To be honest TV over here is appalling, its no wonder viewing figures are so low, and all the advertised shows seem to be around cooking, not surprising considering masterchef, but still. Seven seem to have big hopes for Conviction Kitchen as that seems to be getting a lot of advertisement as well

With the exception of comic relief they are not light entertainment.

The BBC has not done really good light entertainment for years.

Mind you given ITV's efforts the Beeb is still streets ahead. Celebrity Wrestling anyone.

On the subject of light entertainment shows and how much better ITV1 are than the BBC in this genre, it's worth reminding people that XF and BGT are made by an indie for ITV1. At least the BBC's biggest and OK only current hit in this genre is one it makes itself.

If the provisional schedules for January 22nd onwards are to be believed, then the first part of Dancing on Ice on January 23rd will be on from 18:10 to 20:30 - 140 minutes long!

The National Television Awards 2011 are on Wednesday January 26th on ITV1 from 19:30 to 22:00.

I wonder if we'll be going back to the old format of the NTAs or if it will be another chavved up affair this year?

The Dancing on Ice running time is the same as the equivalent show last year, and we saw how that worked out. Stupid ITV.

At least the Skate Off is back to just 30 minutes.

Hustle launches its series with 5.7m. Penn & Teller had 3.9m (exc. HD). Corrie topped the night with over 10m.

Very good start for Hustle. Penn & Teller did solidly considering it was on until 10:30pm and ITV don't tend to do that well on Friday's.

Good for Corrie. Note that neither episode will actually be tape-checked, as they finished at 19:58 and 20:58 respectively.

Hustle did really well to get 5.7m in the Friday slot which is usually a bit of a death trap. All in all, it's been a great start to the year for BBC1. Penn and Teller did reasonably as they'll be above 4m with HD, but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed as it was a great show and so much better than The Magicians and yet The Magicians rated much better. I hope the latter drops tonight.

I wonder how ITV will feel about the P&T rating. Based on previous Friday entertainment offerings they should be pleased but with Wossy at the helm they may be a little disappointed. I think there would have been a bit of an audience overlap with Hustle and it may have done better on a Saturday. It's still a decent rating though and I hope they do more episodes.

I keep reading the phrase "tape-checked", I'm sure it's been asked before, but what does this entail please?
