Casualty has already been recommissioned for 2011-12 and is moving to Cardiff shortly so will be in HD.

Thanks sonny

Excellent rating for it. Lets hope it can keep it up. Last nights episode was a fantastic opener.

The BBC has just moved the Disney stars who solved murders in the 1990's to BBC 2 instead.

If Primeval was on BBC1 and The Magicians was on ITV1, I wonder what the ratings would be like.

Both programmes seem to be getting slated on DS.

are you trying to kick start another BBC vs ITV debate?

Despite being panned last week, The Magicians held up really well - only 0.2m down from last week. Viewers obviously were very forgiving of it. Great ratings all night for BBC1 with all the new shows around the 25% mark. ITV's night was a disaster, those are the sorts of ratings that we usually see in the summer, not January! As others have said, ITV should swap Primeval and TV Burp around because at the moment, Primeval is rating really badly and it's also having a knock-on effect on TV Burp (which has to start half-way through Total Wipeout which probably has a similar audience) and the poor lead-in is denting Take Me Out. Who knows why on earth they repeated Life Stories.

Primeval is just not an ITV show imo. I suspect its figures would be more respectable if it was on the BBC. Bearing in mind ITV's audience bulk seems to be reality fans and soap watchers, are these the same demographic who will watch a family sci-fi show?

Also, does anyone know if they are actually committed to showing series 5 after Watch has had it or can they decide not to bother?

sorry to do this, but I have just had a look at the ELEVEN scheulde, and im worried.

18:30 - Neighbours
19:00 - Everybody Loves Raymond

I know ELEVEN is 1/3rd owned by CBS, but shouldnt Neighbours be the start of "primetime" on ELEVEN, and the Classic CBS shows restricted to daytime. Neighbours is going to get lost in the repeats, when it should be the marker for the start of primetime.

as far as I know they are, but they never announced a date, I hope they do air it.

It's not going to lost between repeats, they are showing new episodes of The Simpsons before Neighbours, it doesn't really matter what airs after Neighbours to be honest.

no im not saying it shouldnt be on at 18:30, it just shouldnt be followed by something from the CBS back catalouge, followed it with even a more recent Simpsons repeat, and it looks more like primetime than Everybody Loves Raymond does.

never mind Neighboours I think ELEVEN should be doing better than Everybody Loves Raymond at 7pm, nothing against it, but it should be limited to the daytime hours.

Presumably it'll either get shunted to Saturday tea time during the summer when they expect ratings to be low anyway, or possibly even to ITV2. I suppose it depends upon when Watch are done with it. ITV won't want it in a prime slot in the Autumn.

They're on the previous page (posted by sonny2001).

I dont want it on ITV 2, I would then have to watch the channel, could they not at least move it to ITV 4, I could live with myself then.

I don't trust them (). They seem to vary a lot. I prefer rzt's approach.

Err, he posts ratings a lot; and they're always correct. (BBC1's ratings include HD; ITV1's exclude HD)

OK, I'll take your word for it, but when you or rzt post it just looks a little more 'professional',

Anyway

BBC1 are going to do well with a Saturday schedule that stays the same every week for once, with

6.00 Total W
7.00 The M
8.00 In It to Win It
8.50 Casulaty
9.40 CFWM (better with new eps. rather than repeats though)
10.10 News
10.30 Motd
11.50 TFLS

Wild at Heart vs Lark Rise to Candleford/Zen

Winner will be.....

And I'm not to sure on ITV choosing Leeds vs Arsenal as the replay. There are 4 games today that ITV could easily choose, if there is a draw.

So with the official figure for ep 1 and last nights repeat, cfwm has reached almost 16 million- incredible.

Also shocked about last night, I thought the magicians would drag bbc1 down last night giving itv the victory. I would still switch wipeout and the magicians around

Don't rise to the bait. It's comedy gold sometimes, yet wears thin at other points.

Only the first couple of minutes though to see if they changed the magicians.

Dreadful night for ITV. TV Burp was just a best of but they're still wasting it against Wipeout. Primeval is tanking at 7pm and needs to be moved an hour earlier. Dreadful rating, and it dragged TMO down a bit too. I think TMO has been damaged by the Christmas break and some viewers aren't aware it's back. It's more of a 7pm hour show too, and I think Primeval is harming it. Terrible for the Life Stories repeat but that's no surprise.

ITV need to change te schedule to something like: 6pm: Primeval, 7pm: YBF, 7:30pm: Best of TV Burp, 8pm: TMO, 9:15pm: Benidorm (R). I still think TMO is too late but with a bit of advertising and a better lead-in with a greater overlap audience should help it. They really could do with DOI being split across the weekend.”

6pm would be an even tougher slot for Primeval though as Total Wipeout is more established competition. If anything switching it with Take Me Out might be the better solution.

A couple of other things. The News of the World suggests the 100th episode of Shameless will air in the "autumn". By my reckoning that would be the 18th episode of this new (22-part) series, so perhaps they are splitting it after all. (Or the Murdoch press wrong again!)

Also with Glee notice the C4 showings are now both during T4 - the first on Saturday at 10.45am and the second on Sunday at 11.35am (after Hollyoaks). E4 repeating it on Saturdays at 6.30pm. Think last year it was Thursdays at 11pm (after Skins) - not sure if it had another screening.

The C4 changes are understandable as it didn't work for them in a 8pm slot, but think E4 could give the repeat a more prominent slot - Friday at 9pm for example.

Awful rating for Life Stories, It was bad decision to air it just after 9pm, I know ITV dont have many hits but surely they could have repeated something else or shown a film. Take Me Out being proclaimed as the next big entertainment hit seems to have been premature, under 4m in January is not good at all.

Good for BBC1 and yet again Casualty pulls in another excellent rating, which it does every January but just a month ago people were talking about the axe.

It doesnt matter which channel it's on, Primeval just isnt a strong enough show to hold an audience. The premise is clever but the stories are just the same every week and I thik the audience were bored of it 2 years.

Its disappointing because if done well it could be a really good show and any drama succeeding on ITV is a plus.
