I've said it before, but DOI is an Asda Smartprice version of Strictly.

From what I endured of it tonight, it looked even more Asda-fied than ever. Tacky, gaudy, cheap and padded in extremis.

at both.

But I think I'll stick with "Padding on Ice" this year - it certainly was tonight.

Top marks for effort to Holly Willoboobie though, once again...

Yeah Al Murray's who was on tonight is with Avavlon.

Funilly enough Avalon produces Russell Howard’s Good News too.

Just looking on the Avalon site, your right - "ALASTAIR CAMPBELL, DAVID COULTHARD, JENNY ECLAIR, MARGARET MOUNTFORD, AL MURRAY, JOHN PRESCOTT, HARRY REDKNAPP, SHAUN RYDER, FRANK SKINNER, CATHERINE TATE and LOUIS WALSH."

The only critisim i would have is that it shoule be a bit longer - especially with the fact that they had "other" guests who only were there a few minutes.

Is it just me or does it seem that a lot of the typical BBC comedian's seem to be on ITV lately, Comedy Annual, Comedy Rock's and some other programme I can't think of.

I do think it's damaging to air shows with no ads in the ad breaks. Viewers aren't daft, and will assume they are watching a show that ITV couldn't sell advertising for, so it must be a clunker.

I know that's unfair, and it's the silly regulations, but viewers won't know that.

Haven't done one of these for a while-- thought I better get some practice in ahead of Eleven launching next week.

Big news ratings for the summer, with bulletins dominated by the latest on the flood situation. Nine's special did well, especially in badly hit Brisbane where it was the 2nd most watched show of the day after Seven News.

Elsewhere, SBS had a particularly good night with its all new lineup. Very rare for three shows in a row on SBS to rate above 300k so that is notable.

I was hoping you might give us Eleven's ratings!
I'm a massive Neighbours fan and I really feel for the show - you just know it is going to get bad ratings on that channel! What do you think, maximum 400k ?

Whatever it gets I don't think its going to look good - even for a digital channel!

Presumably there may be ads on UTV or STV, or on any repeats the show may get on ITV1, 2, 3, 4.

The usual Z list celebs, garish set, the evil Schofe in charge, I hope it stiffs. This really is the Daily Star version of SCD, which I presume has given DOI its usual fawning coverage as it does to any trashy reality show.
I was at my sister's house tonight, and she rarely watches what she calls shite TV. Even Sky 3's cops and prisons shows are vastly better than what ITV1 churn out.

Yep, I will publish them as soon as they come through on Tuesday night.

According to OzTam the channel had a 0.1% share yesterday despite not broadcasting any programmes yet, so that's a good start!

The most popular shows on Australian digital tv such as The Big Bang Theory get around 450,000 so that's the very upper limit of what Neighbours can expect. I reckon just below 300k is where it will come in at taking everything into account.

Really? I'm expecting way below 300k. I guess it depends on how faithful that audience of 400k who normally watch the show day in, day out, actually are. But I'm expecting a flop, even by digital standards. I hope I'm wrong though.

I wouldn't say Dancing on Ice is as 'Daily Star' fodder as I'm A Celebrity. Thought the set was fine, much better than before.

Besides, not sure how you can comment on the set and the standard of the programme when you didn't see the changes made this year?

Do you think viewers are really going to think that much about it?

An ad break is an ad break - most use it as an excuse to make a cup of tea anyway. As for the show I thought it was surprisingly good, and Adrian seemed far more at home in that setting.

The average for Neighbours on Ten is way higher than 400k though, although you probably don't need me to tell you that. Not many episodes have gone as low as that. But you're right in that 400k probably represents the 'hardcore' viewers.

What does worry me is it's probably the worst possible time to have made the change, in the middle of the summer. But hopefully over half the 500k that regularly tune in will find it. I do think that's a reasonable target, between around 250k and 300k. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but a lot of multichannel shows rate at that sort of level now, without the long history on terrestrial that Neighbours has enjoyed.

The other issue is to what extent will it dent Ten itself. That will be equally fascinating.

Come Fly With Me is doing really well on Iplayer!

All 3 episodes are currently in the top ten most watched!

yes Neighbours average for 2010 is going to be in the 500,000s rather than the 400,00s.

I really dont know what Neighbours will get on ELEVEN my guess is 150,000 - 200,000 but ive been starting to think I might be guessing low.

I prefer it to Little Britain so I'm glad it's doing well.

Yes it's not as in your face and the writing is just as good. This could be the sitcom hit the BBC has been wanting for years now My Family seems to be on its last legs. It also shows Lucas and Walliams want to move on with new shows.

Oh yes, I know that you mean but yeah, I meant that no matter what, there is usually a solid 400k that tune in. On Ten, that was dependable, even if it could flicker wildly from 400k to 700k and above.

I don't think that umm-ing and ahh-ing about it starting off on Ten for a week will help either. It just confused things even more and I hope the show succeeds. It could be the jewel in Eleven's crown if it pulls in 300k on a daily basis and if the show pulls up it's socks in terms of quality, maybe even more.

I hope Ten suffer for it. I know that's immature but it does feel like they just don't care about it anymore. Maybe that's just me.

By spoofing something that was big on TV more than a decade ago?

What next - the Walliams & Lucas Driving School?

Some of what's in CFWM might have made the cut in Little Britain. But a full 6x30m is too much. If they'd wanted to serve up more character-driven comedy, they should have made another series of Little Britain.

I'm not getting the big fuss about CFWM. It's okay-ish for what it is but it doesn't really make me laugh that much, which sort of defeats the object. Although if you like it that's fair enough. I watch because there's nothing else on and it's a decent way to pass half an hour. I don't think it's exceptionally bad, but not great.

CWFM is funny but it's similar to Little Britain which I loved but others may hate. It's essentially a sketch show in a mockumentary format.

Will be interesting how CSI does on Tuesdays, it lost a lot of viewers last season and it doesn't help that it is up against Silent Witness and Taggart. The other CSIs have surprisenly held up a lot better.

Except Summer Heights High and We Can Be Heroes is funnier than CFWM. Cant wait for Angry Boys which is being co-produced by ABC, BBC and HBO. I imagine it'll be BBC Two or BBC Three.

well done for knowing who I was talking about, I was worried no one would.

However I think it will be on BBC 2.

Maybe we should get Chris on CFWM
