Perhaps true - well - I think the answer is then to split Dancing on Ice on Saturday and Sunday - as you and Score agreed - it's strange how ITV have not done this.

It has been generally noticed that ITV's winter Saturday night schedule has been sometimes short-of-content (perhaps not this year) but definitely nearly always short of ratings. Dancing on Ice, starting at 6pm, would get it going I reckon.

I'm sure there'll be dramas back on Mondays after The Biggest Loser is over.”

This is a travesty IMO - and I think 'The Biggest Loser' will be another 'Tycoon' (which also aired in the high-profile Monday night slot in 2007). Having said that, while The Biggest Loser has been done over the pond, and as a daytime show, it shouldn't be as bad as Tycoon - which at the time was a blatant copy of the already ascending Apprentice.

Monday Night Thrillers was a great brand, and these three-part dramas really need that slot in the winter - Kidnap and Ransom will not really work on Thursday's I don't think.

Fincham probably wants Thursday's to become more of the focal point, in order to help Corrie - but I think it's damaging.

I didn't realise they 'had' to do anything with David Jason. Heaven help they try to air something entertaining.

Come on Robbie, you've got to admit...at least they didn't air yet another crime drama.

If ITV want The Biggest Loser to pick up a few extra viewers why don't they just do this?

Tues-The Biggest Loser
Wed-Midsomer
Thu-Comedy Rocks

well the lawyers were worried that the BBC might have copyrighted working class cockneys living in council flats, but it turned out that was a load of ****

I really think that Australia does not want the show anymore, whatever channel its on, even if it had a new exec producer

Some fantastic ratings there - firstly the BBC Regional News got one of its highest ratings in months. A couple of weeks ago I think it got 8-9m but it hadn't broken that 9m barrier since when it snowed January. Very solid start for The Nativity, it seemed to perform as well as The One Show which is good because IIRC they had a drama in the 7pm slot a couple of years ago in the Christmas period which didn't rate as well as TOS and I was thinking the same could happen here.

Amazing rating for Miranda - it's built a fanbase over the last couple of series and yesterday's rating shows the potential it has when not facing Coronation Street. I'm in two minds about whether it should move to BBC1 or not: maybe it should move due to the lack of BBC1 sitcoms at the moment, however at the same time BBC2 has suffered a pretty bad year ratings-wise and is down the most in terms of share year-on-year out of all the terrestrial channels, so they might need to keep onto their current hits.

Bang on what I expected for Come Rain Come Shine - it's the best rated one-off drama on ITV in at least 3 years and highest-rated Christmas Week new one-off drama since 2004 (Christmas Lights). One-off dramas typically haven't rate so well in recent years (nearly always sub-5m), and even the star name of David Jason hasn't been enough to pull in a huge audience recently (think of Albert's Memorial). So I think it's a decent result.

After how poorly his show rated on Thursday, I'm surprised how well Jamie's Best Ever Christmas rated. It's back to his normal levels but I wonder then why his show on Thursday only got 1.1m when he's clearly capable of ~3m viewing figures? Pretty good evening actually for C4 - that's the highest rating that I can remember for The Alan Carr Show.

Superb for Miranda, but Come Rain or Shine a bit lower than expected. Nativity did well against Emmers.

That'll be another ~12m rating tape-checked for Coronation Street, and probably 13m in the officials. Wow. Nearly 1m ahead of EastEnders as well.

Absolutely superb for Miranda though, benefiting from lack of Corrie! Come Rain Come Shine did well, but was hoping for a bit higher.

A very good Monday. Miranda as noted did extremely well without Corrie. The Five News Special did much better than the usual Five News at 7 - they should do more specials relating to relevant content.

Breakfast still the choice in the morning. Does anyone have Sky News Sunrise ratings for yesterday please?

Another fantastic rating for Coronation Street. It really has been able to gain momentum from the Tram Week!

despite Corrie, still a good rating for EastEnders, its not that long ago, it wasnt attracting anything like 10 million, and there was a time when Corrie out rated EE by alot more.

Great night for BBC1 apart from the dodgt 8.30-10pm period. The news bulletins performing excellently, EE still pulling in excellent audiences despite the huge drop in quality and AQOS doing extremely well in the new slot. Also an extra 1.6m for Graham Norton added to his record audience last Friday! And obviously superb for Miranda-one of BBC2's biggest hits of the year and I would suspect a move to BBC1 is imminent now.

Huge audiences for ITV's soaps-Corrie still maintaining a huge lead over EE and I reckon the momentum should continue as Corrie keeps producing fantastic episodes. But lower than expected for Come Rain Come Shine-it had the best slot of the week with weak competition and should have grabbed more of the 12m people wanting to watch Corrie.

Amazing for Miranda. ITV really should have kept the second Corrie. Is Alan Carr not well up on what he usually gets?

Yep, well up from low to mid 1's ratings he was getting earlier this year for a few of his episode. Also up half a million from last week.

Quoting myself - just remembered Joe Madison's War did better so CRCS was the 2nd best rated one-off drama on ITV in 3+ years.

The snow giving most things a lift I suspect. Miranda certainly outperformed what I expected, although CRCS underperforming in Corrie's slot will have helped.

And Accused couldn't get any benefit at all - that should be the end of that particular series. Try and come up with something a bit more original Jimmy next time...

Moving QoS to 10.35 seems to have been an inspired move, far outrating expectations for the slot.

I do think Corrie's figure is snow-inflated, more than being down to people still being totally gripped by the crash storylines - is CS any more likely to be compulsive Xmas Day viewing this year as a result? Hm, doubtful.

900,000? Isn't that about the usual margin we see for the two shows on Monday nights?

And many regular EE fans make a daily appointment with the 10pm showing...

Pre tram crash both shows were pretty much neck and neck with EE sometimes beating Corrie, so a 1m lead is quite a large gap.

Fantastic for Miranda! I can see this episode adding another 3m ish on it's repeat airing on BBC2 on Christmas Day due to BBC1 giving up way too early.

ah yes but several million Eastenders viewers are stuck in airports, motorways, railway stations, 30ft snowdrifts, etc whilst all the Coronation Street viewers are tucked up nicely at home in front of a log fire and listening to Perry Como records.

I think it's also that last night's show was a cooking show, whereas the Lock-In show on Thursday was a naff-looking light entertainment 'special' with 'star' guests such as Louis Spence.
