Well said guys. The channel is improving all the time and as I said the sporting rights are going to be key. Does Desmond have enough spending power to push for those big contracts? Champions League would be immense if he could pull it off. But something like the FA Cup as well could provide a boost.
I watch Channel 5 far more than ITV1. And the new year schedule is looking strong with brand new NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, Cowboy Builders, Emergency Bikers, Eddie Stobart and Ice Road Truckers. Each and every one of them excellent programmes. Plus in daytime The Wright Stuff is being extended by 15 minutes, Vanessa Feltz' new show follows at 11am and Matt Barbet becomes the main presenter of Five News at 5pm. All positive changes, I think it could be a great start to the year for the channel.
The 6:30pm-8:00pm period and underperformance of Home and Away are ongoing issues though.
