I think Joanna will go far, and if I was her I would ask Lord Sugar to mentor me and meet with me every quarter or something to discuss how my business is improving and to advise me.

I didn`t cry but felt very sad that she was fired. I don`t think Chris deserves to be in the final.

I think that even though she started out being a mouthy cow, Joanna ended up being how most of us might hope to perform on The Apprentice - a hard-working, common-sense type who gets things done, even if we've not had formal business training.

In fact, based on what we saw throughout the series, I don't think it shows in the tasks at all that she doesn't have a business background, but she did start to crumble when it became the main interview topic, and she's clearly never been in that kind of semi-confrontational situation before in a business context...

I don't think she was good enough to win, but am very glad she got such a valedictory from LS, that was the least she deserved.

I think her tears were because she was so proud of herself rather than sadness. Her speech in the taxi showed that. I suppose in reality if LS can choose between someone with very little business knowledge/training and someone with a lot, he is going to hire the one with a lot, unless the one with little knowledge is absolutely outstanding and streets ahead of the other candidates, which I don't think Joanna actually was. She was just on a par in the other departments imo.

I think Joanna was the best candidate. with regards the outside world she didnt put a foot wrong. She had the best ideas and carried them out the best. She is down to earth, speaks normal not in cliches. Answers a question. I dont think any of the others didnt put a foot wrong. She worked the hardest on all the tasks. But as LS said and i suppose will repeat tonight she is not ready for the large pond since she has no businsess qualifications and doesnt know how big business works these days. What she should do is go to school and learn a bit about it.
And if allowed come back next year and try again. LS did say he would keep in touch with her. I dont think he has given her up at all. I still think she needs a partner who knows big business.
She says she can get conracts but seems ashamed that she is just a cleaning lady. she has to forget about the chip and be more herself.

Yes, she's proved that she's got what it takes over and over again.

Did he? I missed that.

I'm very pleased if so because she could really use some mentoring.

She's definitely got what it takes and even a small investment in tutoring would pay enormous dividends.

its in metro the free paper (why do people by the others) page 42
she also writes that she has never crossed paths with such people.
She has to really learn that she has nothing to be ashamed of and is as good, no better than any of them.
whats the use of qualifications if you dont have common sense. Chris and Jamie talk and talk and say nothing. I get the impression they themselves dont know.

What's wrong with cleaning? I'm lost without my cleaner (she's just back from a short break, thank the Lord!).

It's a very creditable business. Ethical and usually provides flexible working for women who (still) need it. Joanna should be proud. Stick with the business.

Joanna will have learnt a lot and despite some of her co-competitors being more polished and educated, she has sharper businesss insinct and much more commonsense than most of them, including both finalists. Also, you can't teach people to be personable, which she is...which is why she's great at getting business out of strangers in a professional and businesslike way.

Agree she should take up any mentoring opportunities offered. Good luck to her - she should do well.

Sorry to her fans but I didn't rate Joanna. Good for her for starting her own business and I hope she goes from strength to strength in that endeavour. However, it isn't just the fact that she has limited business knowledge nor is it the undoubted aggression (eased when she was 'told off') - for me it is the inability to string a sentence together coherently (and the overuse of the word definitely) that grated with me. If, as she claimed in an earlier programme, she has given presentations to potential cleaning business clients, well - she needs to brush up her vocabulary and cease repeating herself in order to get a point across. Of course, some of it may be due to nerves.

Imo, it was Chris's and Stella's clear and concise responses in the boardroom that got them through to the final. They didn't rely on cliche (like Jamie) and had both clearly thought through what they needed to say.

Sad for me too to see her go....my guess is that AS wouldn't have had time to train her up into a 'sucessful, knowledgable businesswoman' she so wanted to be.......bet she wished she hadn't have bothered applying now!!

If that the case, I know how she feels

Which is why she deserves some credit and admiration, once told something she took it on board and acted upon it.

Better than being someone who is so sure they are right they rigidly stick to their view

I cant agree. Whatever Joanna's vocabulary was like I understood her and so did everyone else. Chris droning on was certainly not clear and concise. He may have used big words, but I didnt appreciate his thought process. And just because he took his time over it, didnt prove to me that he always knew what he was going to say. Stella I agree with you. She was quick on her feet, but lacked foresight in the tasks and was mostly unprepared for any of them. She did seem to rely on others, to carry her, and when left on her own got badly stuck..

I think overall the experiance was very positive for Joanna - she learnt a lot, both about herself and how business works outside of her previous experiance.
The only bad thing for her might be the 60 second or so montage of snippets of her moaning at Jamie (over a period of several hours) - though frankly Jamie had shown he didn't take well to being managed so it was hardly all her fault.

She certainly looked very happy and confident on you're fired

^^This.
She's only 25 and runs a successful cleaning company without any formal business training. That shows balls and initiative.

I thought she would make the final but agree with Sugar's (& Claude's) opinion that she should focus on her company and not waste the opportunity to do so. I wish her nothing but luck.
