Yes it did, and the quibble over the exact terms he used to describe his license seems a little harsh given that LS was backing Stuart and his field of marauding ponies only last week.

I don't particularly like Stuart as I think he's an arrogant little ...., but when the interviewers praised his technical knowledge I thought he might be in with a chance. I was surprised when they fell on that one sentence in his CV like a ton of bricks.

Maybe there may be more detail in the extended version of You're Fired mentioned by Dara, in the early hours of Friday morning (around 12.20am?)...

I can see why people say arrogance, but for me he was almost sending himself up and alot of what he said and did was pure comedy. He may have been deluded but I didnt detect any malice which is where arrogance can lead.

You are right. if the 3 million is true, it justifies Stuart's hyperbole last week and even keeping him. If its not right they don't seem to have found out or are not telling us. The word fully didn't matter - unless the 3 million figure depended on a wider licence and blew that story. It looks like an excuse for sacking him. It also acknowledges last week's idiotic firing and explains it as LS being mislead. It still leaves a problem why it took one minor word to reveal the blindingly obvious a week late - unless it transpires that there were more issues we didn't see.

But not just his interviews, he was good viewing value every week, and only one too. The Apprentice should have more candidates like him, as the show needs some laughs. Stu certainly made the Show come alive. Well done lad

it was a non issue though. He was fully licensed to do what he did in telecoms. He didn't have a full license to provide other sorts of telecoms. He explained that. It didn't matter what he did unless he explicitely claimed to do more than he did, or his profit figures didn't match his real business and fell apart when looked at.

LAS was annoyed at himself because he's wanted to believe Stuart's cloud of spin all series and has coasted along on it. Suddenly somone comes up with some concrete evidence that all is not white as white in the Stu Baggs world of entrepreneurialism (I think I've just made that word up) and he realises what he's probably suspected all along - that he's been taken for a bit of a ride by a maverick 21 year old. That infuriates him because he's allowed it to happen so he takes it out on the person he blames most.

I don't know why we're surprised. It isn't as if LAS is a paragon of objectivity and respectability. He doesn't even come across as particularly bright. He takes a liking to individuals which then blinds him to obvious deficiencies and takes against others for reasons that are seemingly only apparent to him. He's clearly been successful so he must have a fair amount of shrewdness and drive; the show isn't exactly the be all and end all for him - even if his apprentice is a pile of cack, the televisual exposure will more than make up for it. However he often appears completely illogical with strange prejudices and said prejudices change with the wind. As I said - I don't know why we're so surprised .

Sugar has often made the wrong choice this series in my opinion.
In the end the final reason for firing Stuart was a pathetic nit picking one and I think that Sugar was frightened by Stuart's confidence in himself.
Sugar was rather nasty to Stuart which leads me to believe that he only kept Stuart in the programme for entertainment purposes.

But it was all like that. Joanna has no big business experience but she has business experience, has set up a successful business and has business sense and marketing and selling skill. She's also been successful with some presentations.

Chris has no experience, he's floated from subject to subject and purpose to purpose and now wants to leave his first job after 10 months. He's dull at presentations, Ok at sales and hasn't shown much ability at all.

She has the better record on the show. She's got less confidence. He has Oxbridge levels of overconfidence. She gets told to go and get more experience. He goes through on no experience, hot air and sounding right.

Then take Stella - worse at sales and presenting and less business sense than Joanna . Arguably less creative. Equally inexperienced in big business but no experience of her own business. Both wanting to make a change in their career. Both successes outside the educational system. No knowing who could adapt better. He takes the one who is more corporate trained again...........

What about Chris and Jamie. They lied through their teeth to win the items task. LAS didn't bat an eyelid at that. Technically speaking stuart didn't lie about his business. He was fully licences to provide the telecoms functions that he sold. Ie he didn't outsource.

Any proper interviewer would have looked.at that statement and asked for more details not ripped him to shreds. I daresay that stuarts company has a dam sight more licences for telecoms than vigilen does!

I agree with the OP, actually. I do quite like Stuart so perhaps I'm a bit biased towards it all but I was expecting them to find a LOT worse on his CV than perhaps a small embellishment of the truth, shall we say. He consistently showed a lot more enthusiasm and spark then pretty much anyone else there and, whilst I do concede he should definitely not have made the final, he did not deserve the firing he got and should have been given some credit for what he has achieved at his age, which is a great deal.

If any of you could imagine sitting in on meetings with that idiot Baggs then call him and take him on in your company....He wouldn't get past the first stage interview in mine...When we hire we take into account the people they will have to work with....I can't imagine him fitting in. He's in the the right place, his own company.
I think Joanna would have been a better bet than Chris. He wasn't that good at anything in the tasks and struck really lucky in the tour episode..
That all said, It's only a TV programme made for entertainment (which it did) and nothing like real life, so I certainly won't lose any sleep over who wins and probably won't remember any of them in a few months time...

Lee was the same, though. He didn't just lie on his CV, he repeated it in the interview, and stuck to it until he was walked though how it was untrue. What we saw from Stuart wasn't as bad. It wasn't an outright lie so much as some possibly shady wording, and he was always clear in the interview about what the actual state of the licensing was.

One of the form questions was, "what was your worst lie?". What are you supposed to say to that? Stuart gave an honest answer, and when they pointed out that yes, it was bad, he didn't try to defend it. He said, yes, it was wrong, but I was young. He held his hand up to it, in other words.

Exactly, if he hadnt called himself the Brand, he'd never have got on the show!

It's one thing to catch the eye of the producers, it's another to get selected for the show and carry on making utterly ridiculous statements.

Stuart deserved everything that he got. He was a total liar and bullshitter! The only thing that I will say is that Sir Alan never really liked him and he only kept him this week because he knew that he would make good tv in the interviews. I think that it was a complete set up, keeping him instead of Liz. I think that Sir Alan realised that Liz would not fit in with his organisation so it was no big loss to get rid of her last week, even though, deep down he knew that Stuart was a liar. I think that Lord Sugar set Stuart up, hook line and sinker!

But Stuart totally deserved it. I have never heard so much drivel come out of somebodys mouth as Stuarts. He was the worst sales person out of the lot of the contestants this year along with Laura!

I agree, I cannot believe some of the lengths both Chris and Jamie would go to, just to sell something. They lied so much, it was unbelievable. I cannot believe that Chris is in the final. Had Joanna not let herself down in the interviews then I think that she would have been in the final. Pity that she did not look up and find out more about Sir Alans companys!

I think that the two best candidates this year has been Stella and Paloma. But Paloma let herself down by being bitchy and nasty about the others and she did not take any prisoners. But I do believe, although Stella has Mellisa in her team next week she also has Paloma and Joanna, the other two strongest candidates this year. I think that Stella has the strongest chance of winning with them.

Although my son texted me and said that one team seams to mess up their flavour of drinks completely. I really hope that it is Chris.

He has lost 7 tasks this year, lets hope that he loses the last one as well. The one person in his favour though is Liz!

he might have been backed but now he's been sacked and quite rightly so. He's a little boy who thinks he can blag his way through life. He'll have to learn the hard way with many bumps along the way.

Sugars attack on Baggs was a bit out of the blue.
He seemed to turn on him on a whim.
The licensing matter was pretty trivial to say the least ,it wasnt half as deceitful as that plonker Chris saying he was one of the most revered theologians in the UK .
Why did Sugar say that all of the interviewers thought Baggs was full of shite,I dont think they implied that.
I didnt like Baggs ,he was an insidious little twit but I thought Sugars attack on him was a bit unfair and cowardly.

I think Baggs 'the brand' was lucky to even get to the interview stage.
