I found it very hard to gauge her age (I never checked on the BBC TA site). Had I had to make a guess I'd have said around 28.

I think Joanna was the best candidate. with regards the outside world she didnt put a foot wrong. She had the best ideas and carried them out the best. She is down to earth, speaks normal not in cliches. Answers a question. I dont think any of the others didnt put a foot wrong. She worked the hardest on all the tasks. But as LS said and i suppose will repeat tonight she is not ready for the large pond since she has no businsess qualifications and doesnt know how big business works these days. What she should do is go to school and learn a bit about it.
And if allowed come back next year and try again. LS did say he would keep in touch with her. I dont think he has given her up at all. I still think she needs a partner who knows big business.
She says she can get conracts but seems ashamed that she is just a cleaning lady. she has to forget about the chip and be more herself.

Maybe the "experience" at that time was a bit much for her, and since the end of the process, she was able to get on with her usual routine.

I dont have young kids as she does, but could it be that she was missing them?.

Sadly for me, she looked lost during the interview process, so those who would be more interview "savvy" such as Stella, came across much better.

As for her looks, I always thought she was cute....

She really lacked the business education to go further.
And I was appalled at her lack of preparation for the interviews.
She didn't even know , for Heaven's sake, anything about Sid's businesses.

Joanna did well during the process because people can see that it's just too much hassle to stand in her way so they gave her space and let her push things through- that even extends to the people she sold to who I think recognised that she wasn't going to give up and were essentially paying to be left alone.

She can make a business out of the cleaning, she's never going to be star as she lacks key knowledge and doesn't strike me as hugely innovative. She even said she chose cleaning because it was easy. Given her life and background she has done very well, but sadly when it comes to objective decisions a person's success is not judged relative to their own lives but against the achievements and skills of others and here Joanna fell short.

Surely, if you apply for something like the Apprentice, you take time out to learn (if you don't know already!!) the basics of business eg what a Balance Sheet is, what cash flow is etc.
Only the basics, wouldn't take long.
But she lacked the foresight to do so.
I can't imagine what she expected.

That's exactly it, she done well but she really didn't have the credentials to even be considered and having her there was hardly any different from picking a checkout operator/shelf stacker/admin assistant at random and throwng them into the show. She has a chip on her shoulder about cleaning, although I think the words in the board room helped her get over that but effectively all she is is a self employed cleaner who has set up her business as a limited company as anyone can do.

In every single task she came out the best as far as the dealing with the non contestants were.
She didnt put a foot wrong. She was the most innovative. She was always the one with the ideas. And always carried them out the best. She got the interviews with customers. Now dont tell me over the phone they were scared of her. She used to be a waiter and decided to be a cleaner. That is a step down. But preferred to be her own boss. If she had the education she would have won hands down,.
I really feel sorry for her. She really thought that by trying so hard she would have had a chance where really non existed.

Its really her colour that gets you. You cant believe that she could get so far with it. If it was a different one you wouldnt see her as thick.
Name me a task where even when she was on the winning side she should be fired for being the worst person in it.
Anyway there is no reason for these tasks to know the basics of business. Where does cash flow come into it or balance or spread sheet. Yes she charged her way through using common sense which she possesses more than all of them (put together). They all fell on the way except her. She wasnt 'thrown out' like the others for 'faults'. Ok LIz also wasnt. But she didnt have to resort to cheating like her.

It must really rankle with them that she was so popular and so well regarded.

Why they are so out of kilter with everyone else is hard to say. You suspect racism or misogyny must play a part in a few cases.

Joanna did really well in the tasks - she truely was an outstanding candidate. However, she let herself down in the interviews - although whether this was sheer nerves or lack of preparation it's hard to say.

I think if she'd had a good interview, and sold herself better then she could have pipped Chris to the finals.She had the basic credentials LS likes, but her interview was so poor there was no way she could progress to the finals.

What was unclear is - how large is her cleaning company? Is it a one-woman band or does she have employees? Even when the interviewer was asking she didn't sell herself, only answered "I get by."

In the DS interview she said her kids go to private schools.
I think she is doing well with her cleaning business.

If they got that she would have won the task and they could have ordered many millions!
I hope she has somehow patented the idea like the other apprentice. It should be better than cleaning!

If thats the best 'fault' you can come up with, about her, all your others fall flat.

I am not so sure what was wrong with the interview. So she doesnt know LS latest scams.

You must realise she really wanted and thought she deserved the job (quite rightly). So when she saw that she didnt know all the replies about LS she fell apart.
I wonder if all the others were asked this and if they knew.
And anyway he is supposed to be offering her a new company so why does she have to know all his past shenanigansl.
