A thread for the songs you ban from being played. I'll start:

Don't Stop Believing (any version)
California Gurls ~ Katy Perry
Alejandro ~ Lady GaGa
Shame ~ Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow
The Flood ~ Take That
Crazy In Love ~ Beyonce
Empire State of Mind ~ Alicia Keys

^ All of which have been repeated since 9am this morning on our work's choice of radio station.

Add yours.

Anything by Take That (seriously overplayed), DEFINITELY would ban Cee Lo Green, Michael Buble' (not too bad on all stations but Heart play him ALL the time) oh and JLS too.

That's Heart for you. How about just banning the radio station?

I feel for you, Mimi!

Anything by Take That
Anything by JLS
Anything by Westlife
Anything by N-Dubz
Any version of Don't Stop Believin'
Teenage Dream - Katy Perry (seriously overplayed)

Oh and seeing as it's Christmas I'd ban Slade, Wizzard and Mariah Carey and their Christmas offerings. Also most of Cliff Richard's ones and the Band Aid II/Band Aid 20 version of Do They Know It's Christmas. I'd only allow the original to be played. I'd also ban any depressing ones like that John Lennon one and the Bing Crosby one (which I find really depressing when I hear it).

Might be more yet...

Well I know I see it an awful lot on TV. Maybe it depends which radio station plays it. The ones I listen to (The Hits and Smash Hits Radio) play it quite a bit.

@mushymanrob: Definitely would ban anything by Celine. Her voice is terrible! Also forgot to mention I'd also ban any songs by La Roux.

Would that include Fairy Tale of New York? Not exactly an uplifting ditty

I know it isn't but I would stop it being overplayed a lot. I wouldn't ban it altogether though. The ones I find depressing are that John Lennon one and the Bing Crosby ones. Maybe it's the melody/singing style rather than the lyrics, I don't know.

I'm not that fussed about the radio, but I would love to ban all Christmas music from being played in shops. it does my head in.

Not a bad idea. Worst thing I noticed so far is that a couple of shops I was in recently were playing Christmas music and they weren't even songs, just lift muzak that sounded like Christmas carols/songs. They had the melodies right but it was just cheesy lift muzak. I thought to myself "if they're going to play festive music why not play proper songs instead of something that belongs in a lift?"

Turn off the radio and put a CD of your favourite playlist on instead. Problem solved!

Moans.

I set this thread up while at work. They always have the radio on, sadly.

I would if I was at home, but I'm at work. It's the only station they can pick up sadly.

Anything by Take That. Seriously; The Flood, Rule the World and Greatest Day are basically the same song, reworked with some new lyrics. Really monotonous X Factor audition background music fodder essentially.
