Somebody on betfair forum has posted that Matt got over 50% of the votes in the Semi-Final!

Matt's odds have collapsed, please don't say he is gonna beat the beautiful Kara....

What we need is a worthy winner - that could be Matt or Kara - it could also be Pamela.

Odds change because more people think Matt's going to win, so they're putting more money on it. It doesn't mean anything. Not everyone is supporting Kara, you might be better off posting this in her AT.

I think Matt fans may have panic voted due to his place on the leaderboard and the salsa scores from the judges.

Kara was top of the leaderboard, she didn't need her fans to vote for her as much.

I think there's still lots of people undecided or fans of all three that haven't voted yet. I know I haven't voted yet this series, but intend to vote in the final.

Because it will be unbearable watching Matt lifting the Glitterball after all his sulking this series.
Kara is by far the most deserving winner (imho of course)

It's still up in the air. A lot of people don't vote til final night and Kara seems very popular on all the online polls I've seen. Fact is we don't know who will win til it's announced and all the guessing in the world won't make any difference.

Personally, Kara is the winner already. For me it's about dancing and she's head and shoulders above the rest - I've seen very few Matt or Pamela fans who would disagree that Kara is the better dancer. it's all about personal taste though, I understand that and some prefer the journey or the fun aspect. For me, I prefer the dancing and so the best dancer always wins and this year it's Kara. I want her to lift that glitterball for two reasons - so I can get confirmation that great dancing is still an integral part of this show in the public's eyes (after last year's abomination ) and so that Kara & Artem can be rewarded by the public for their stellar offerings week after week. But if she doesn't lift it, it won't change the fact that when people talk about the greatest dancer in series 8 they'll say it was Kara Tointon, much the same way they talk about Jill Halfpenny.

I wouldn't take any notice of what they say on the Betfair forums. Ramping (i.e the spreading of false information in order to benefit financially) is common practice.

Matt's odds have shortened and Kara's, in turn, have drifted because of the story in today's Sun about her being ill and unable to practice.

The only metric by which we can guage the public vote is online polling and Kara's far and away the favourite in those. I really don't think there's anything to worry about there. The polls have been very accurate in the past and although DS is a smallish community, it does have a broad cross section of members, demographically speaking.

You've seen very few that have bothered to argue with you. But since you push the point I think Matt is the better dancer. I've always had Kara as my second favourite, but this is nothing to do with her dancing, just the fact I quite like her and feel she was a bit hard done by on EE.

Whether it is or is not true is besides the point.

Kara is in my eyes, the best, so I shall vote for her. I hope you'll do the same if you feel the same.

Quite. Thanks for this common sense view. I once had a bet (1975 Derby, I think), and that's the sum of my knowledge about the world of betting, but what you say makes perfect sense.

It's going to be a great final, because there are three good dancers competing (okay, six if you count the pros) and any one of them 'deserves' to win. I have my favourite, but others will have theirs and fair play to them.

I know emotions are all a bit askew just before the final, but if your own particular favourite doesn't win, just think of the years and years of fun you'll have bemoaning the fact!*

That would be my thought. It makes sense they would change the odds if Matt can practice for 12 hours a day and Kara has been down and unable to practice.

I agree with Tylertango. The Kara fans cannot concern themselves with it and just vote for Kara if they feel she is deserving for the win just as those fans will vote Matt/Pamela.

They all needed the votes - despite her position at the top of the leaderboard had Kara been in the bottom 2 with the viewers any of the others - including Gavin, could have overtaken her. I'd be very surprised if Kara's supporters didn't work that out for themselves.

I've followed x-factor this yr (mr cardle hooked me in) but the ds forum spoilers each week nearly had me certified - someone posted each week with info from an alleged source. When the percentages were released' matt had topped the vote every week bar wk one. The poster was a fantasist... Cautionary word - don't get sucked in - just enjoy the show and vote for your fave

I didn't mean to push any point, just giving my opinion and basing it on my personal experience which is all any of us can do. I wholeheartedly disagree about who is the best dancer. But no offence intended

Yup, I think a lot of Kartem fans are a bit worried due to Flugate and the Show Dance, but it is now confirmed Kara is NOT doing Flashdance thanks to the lovely Cheryl - so all we can do is support who we like, as much as any other fanbase supports who they like.

There really isn't enough time in the day to worry about whether or not Kara's got a chance of winning, because unless you spend that time voting, then she won't anyway.
