Philips DVDR - Firmware Update
Has anyone tried / successfully completed a firmware update on their Philips DVDR? How easy was it? Did it solve old problems or cause more (new) problems? Was performance better after?
Philips want me to try a firmware upgrade on my DVDR890 before taking it for repair - does/will the firmware upgrade override the player's current multiregion capability by restoring it back to Region 2 only? Grateful for all advice. thanks |

Did the firmware upgrade last night with a disk supplied by Philips. Sat back ready to enjoy troublefree viewing of "The Four Feathers" and an hour in - the picture started to jump, then skipped and finally froze!!!! So, no change there then and it tells me that it's not a firmware problem. Needless to say I'm now back on the phone to Philips.
