I going to apologise in advance...because I realise there are probably a thousand and one "what should I call my new pet?" threads and you're all like but even so, I'm totally stuck!
He arrives on Christmas Eve and is I can't think of a name... Help!

From my experience of Beagles, make sure it isn't a name you would be embarrassed to call as you'll be calling it lots!! (They aren't exactly great at recall!!!!)

They are also a bit prone to over eating and need a lot of walking to keep them trim - I know more than one nicknamed 'Fatty'

They can be vocal if an only dog - so they could end up thinking they are called 'Shut the heck up'

But your little guy is such a cutie - how about 'Thumper' or 'Bumble'

I'd call him Foxy, just to see a few eyebrows raised when you take him for a walk off lead.

Lovely little pup by the way, I hope you really enjoy him.

I hope you've got a massive garden or else this little pup will drive you nuts for the first three years of its life. Be warned, for the beagle novice they are very hard work and over-excitable, chew every thing, have boundless energy......When they reach adulthood (3+ years) they become the most docile, loving dog you could ever want.

I think you should call it Christmas...as when its chewed threw every cable in your home and gnawed the leg of the sofa, there'll be a little reminder that dogs are for life, not just for Christmas.

Enjoy.

Oh I am soooo jealous!! He is gorgeous, lucky you.
I have always wanted a Beagle and if I ever get one I intend to call him Bertie.
You can steal the name if you like . . . .

Awww he is gorgeous.

I wanted to call our beagle Brian after the dog from Family guy, but OH wouldnt let me lol. So we settled for Benji. Does suit him tho

Totally agree what others have said about Beagles being hard work up to about 3ish. Benji was a terror but now he's really calm and a really lovely dog.

We've also got a lab/beagle x called Finn, who is about 18 months, counting down the months till he hits that magic calming age

I love Eddie (the Beagle)
He is lovely I would be kissing that beautiful head all the time if he was mine. I bet you can't wait to get him home.

Are you a Star Trek fan?

Captain Archer had a beagle called Porthos (after one of the 3 musketeers).
You could call yours Athos, Aramis or D'artagnon.

....IF you're a Star Trek fan.

Otherwise, there's always "Snoopy".
