Did anybody else notice this mistake in last night's Corrie? (19/07/04)

When Danny Baldwin walked into the house, just as he went through the living room door the camera showed a massive gap where the interior wall should have been.

If you have seen the sets, you will know that there isn't actually a wall there, so I think somebody put the camera in the wrong place.

Yes, I noticed this as well! But most of the houses seem to have this strange gap in between Living Room/Kitchen. And they always walk through the door too. Why? I'd just walk throught the great big space!

I didn't actually notice a "big gap" but I will watch it again when it's on to see.

At the moment my explanation is - The Baldwin's house, Number 7, was only built in 1982 and has a different layout from the other terraces. There is not an interior wall between the "front parlour" and the back room (which is really the living room), instead there are 2 adjoining doors which can be open or closed to form a partition between the two rooms...or in this case left open to make a "big gap"

Anyway, we'll wait and see...

Something i noticed last night in Corrie, but i find it hard to explain.

It was when the oldies (Rita, Audrey etc) were in the pub. Now, all the booths are around the edges of the pub, so when Betty stood talking to them next to the booth, that was fine. But the camera was the other side of the booth, which would of meant that it was stood in the middle of the floor, and not up against a wall.

Does that make sense ?

In a word....no lol

Don't forget that pieces of set can be moved around so as to fit cameras in, so it's more than likely that they moved "a wal" to fit the camera in.

When Curly lived there they often had the camera angle showing the divider between the 2 rooms. From what I can remember, it was some kind of white partition with frosted panes of glass in it. I always wondered whether it could actually be opened or not, or whether it was fixed. I don't ever remember seeing it open.

btw...I am trying to recall how the house was built in 1982 if it forms part of a terrace. Did there used to be a gap there?

Oh I am glad it wasn't just me seeing things. I checked it a couple of times to make sure I had dreamt it up.

Was that one Rita Sullivan's house cause I seem to remember her house collapsing and someone re-building it. Or did I just just totally dream that?

From memory, (and it could be wrong!) It was built by Len Fairclough, and Rita and Len moved in after it was completed.

I also faintly remember that there was a seat and blank wall there, but that could be wrong, I'm sure someone can clarify this.

I also remember an epsiode where rita was moving into the house, and the doors were open, and showed what would have been the front room aswell.

I've noticed many mistakes of recent, including the awful scenes last night when Frankie announced she was going to see Danny and managed to get there in seconds...ok I know its not real time but this just took the biscuit.

Yes - thats right. As someone above said - the wall of the pub could of been taken out to allow the camera there, but it looked a bit daft
