Why wasn't Stewart invited back for the final?

Does anyone know? I twitted Lord Sugar but he blanked me... probably too busy plugging his book or having a hissy fit with Piers Morgan.

SurLorSuga probably still feels raw about the Brand mugging him off

I think people are making too much of this.

They only need a certain number of candidates to come back and I expect they thought everyone would be sick of the bagginator by now.

Stuart may have offered the explanation himself.....

The only place he sits naturally in an organisation is at the top. He will work in the ranks if he has to, but only to get to the top. Now that is no longer possible, further tasks are of no use to him.

I think Stuart would take all the attention of the final, you can guarantee something would happen around him that would dominate the show.
If I were him I wouldn't go near the show again, he hasn't left in a bad position, Sugar treated him badly, has even said he regrets that he got angry- if Stuart just keeps quiet he remains the 'wronged person' and carries the goodwill that comes with that label.

I think it's a disgrace that he hasn't; I've been watching the Apprentice from season 1 and Stuart is one of my all time favourites for entertainment purposes.

The place when anyone most naturally sits at the top is when on the bog producing shit. Which, to me, says an awful lot about both GrotBaggs and most company bosses...

C'mon, they've got to give the two finalists team members who at least give them a fighting chance of winning.

Landing either Stella or Chris with Stuart would be entirely unfair, as they'd end up spending most of their time trying to control him. Much better to give them competent troops like Jamie, Liz, Paloma or Christopher.

That said, why Melissa or Alex are there is anybody's guess, because they're both bloody liabilities too...

You said it in that sentence there. SA and TA have got their money's worth out of him entertainment wise right up to the last week, so they no longer want the public piquing further interest him. Simple as that.

Agree with you about Melissa. She wasn't very good. I thought Alex was underrated on the show and did actually come up with some good ideas.

I would have liked to see Sandeesh back for this one, she seems hard-working, logical and a team player which I'd have thought would be perfect for being part of the team in the final task. Maybe Stuart was too busy tending to his field of ponies?

May be some completely other reason, but the Why I Fired Them moved marginally more negative on some people including Laura and Sandeesh and especially the bloke who went first who has also vanished I think. He may now think Sandeesh and Laura stayed a bit too long? There might also be a mix of strong people and difficult people there so the two finalists both get tested with using both extremes? You then don't want the people in the middle like Sandeesh and Laura so much and you don't want to lumber the finalists with too many hopeless cases which explains some other absences?

I disagree, remember the DVD task, Stuart came up with all the successful ideas (which the other team copied). He is also a consistent sales person. I just don't think Sir Alan had the balls to apologise for his behaviour towards him, so chose the cowards way out.

Stuart twitted me today though saying:

"just seen the final episode. Seeing how it goes, it was probably good to let them concentrate without me!"

Do we know that Stuart wasn't invited? Maybe he was but refused?

I think it is fear of sabotage. The formet contestants are back to help the finalists, it may seem similar to a normal task with a PM but it's not, the finalist is now meant to be boss and the others no longer have any stake in their performance so should simply be taking orders, offering some feedback but not expecting to be listened to in the same way. I think there's a fear Stuart wouldn't do this and would ruin the finalist who has him in their team's chances of winning by beigna argumentative and trying to take charge. He might not have done but it's risk management to leave him out.

I think you are right Bamber. It's just not fair to the others to have him there. If I understand correctly, there was only a couple of days break between the interview round and the final and it would have been too soon for someone with his ego to adjust to supporting someone else.

Some of the other idiots/egos that left earlier in the series will have had more time to adjust, and would perhaps have been interviewed to check if they would play ball.

But on the DVD task he was the team leader, not a team member taking orders. And he has shown himself to be a loose cannon (remember the loss of the baby grow, and the embarrassment of him chasing Joanna's bus tour customers?) He's clearly not a good team member and would be at best a distraction to Chris or Stella.

Bamber19 got it spot on with:

Alternatively - Chris and Stella clearly aren't fans of Stuart. Given that they'd know the producers would be bringing back former team members, perhaps they asked the producers "please... not Stuart..."

I hope he did, I thought his exit was appaling. Sugar was too harsh on him

In a published interview he said he wasn't asked.

Quite honestly I think people are pretty sick of him at this point. Maybe if he'd gone out a few weeks back it would have been amusing.

I'd like to see how he's getting on in a couple of years and get his take then on what he learned from the process.

Actually Stuart was pretty good on the tasks where he wasn't leading. He was great in Germany, for example, working hard and over-coming Laura's defeatism. Likewise in the advert task, doing the voices. On the fashion task, he had the idea of getting a slot repeated on the big TV pushing their shop. When someone was giving him direction and shutting down his stupider ideas, he was a definite asset.

I'd add Paloma to that list. And one possible reason is to see how the finalists do at managing difficult people.

The trouble is he's very hit and miss.

He might make a valuable contribution but, equally, he might balls it up or really offend someone.

It's the same when he speaks. He's quite capable of talking a lot of sense but he's equally capable of spouting complete b/s. And it's the b/s for which he's remembered.

Well, we know by now he's not good at sales. Apart from that, and excluding tasks where he was the PM, I don't recall him really ballsing things up, at least not worse than many of the other returning candidates. I think a good leader should be able to understand his strengths and weaknesses and use him effectively. Having him back would be a good test of the finalists.
