Liz - We are true Mattadores and are willing to spend the time examining the evidence to prove/disprove a story (well, we don't really need to examine it because it is seared into our brains!)...but for those not quite as fervent as we, it does taint his image and dent his credibility....alot of people take the view that there is no smoke without fire. ....it all seems rather fishy that this crap is being circulated now.

I don't think Matt ever said his parents 'adopted' those boys. I think it was probably more a case of them looking out for them and including them in family events. I had a similar experience with cousins who lost their mum and spent holidays with us. They treat my mum as their own but they had their father......

Matt's little story on the Xtra factor took on a life of its own - it got twisted and elaborated on so now it appears as if Matt has created a tangled web of deceit which was probably never his intention.

Most people know nothing of the original story and doubt too many will venture outdoors tomorrow to buy the DM. The weather is absolutely terrible. I fear Matt's important Saturday sales are going to be affected - but I think he's guaranteed number 1 anyway.

Im not sure what you mean by a war? The Mail have made a massive attack on Matt and who he is. People love him because hes straight and honest and down to earth; the Mail have smeared him in the worst way. Hes not an average celeb - hes a kind of embryo celeb and he cant take that kind of attack and suck it up without real damage at this stage IMO. Thats why they need to rebutt it. His parents too have been slandered, Its just horrible.

I will now disreguard their existance they have lost out some are no longer going to buy their paper.

Whats done is done concerning the DM! We cant change that fact unfortunately...we can express our dissatisfaction however we cannot change it! However I dont think one (horrible) story will sway true Matt fans! We have come to love Matt and obviously we dont want this kind of media attention but its not always going to be positive publicity! Will be interesting to see SYCO's dealing of it!

We need to keep with the positives and look forward to a great winners story 2mrw night!!

I'm not saying Matt is lying, I'm saying his story may have been misinterpreted and the press ran with it. Most of what was printed was rubbish, eg. Matt singing at the funeral.
