In case anyone is interested, the programme guide for Humax (and maybe other connected Freesat devices?) now includes a link from the On Demand option of the programme guide to BBC iPlayer (alongside existing access via the Red Button from any BBC channel).

The less good news is it doesn't work Select the option to go to iPlayer and you get an error message stating that your box isn't connected to the Internet. The exit button doesn't work either.

The better news is that iPlayer still works via Red Button access from the BBC's TV channels.

not working here either.
no internet connection it says (but works fine with the other method), and using the new method it gets stuck in a loop - it wont exit from the Press red button prompt.
But you can clear it by manually typing in a different channel number.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm talking about the entry point to iPlayer via the Freesat EPG, rather than iPlayer itself...

Yes, Freesat EPG on Humax HDR. Select - On Demand, select - BBC iPlayer, this then asks you to press Red Button and iPlayer appears.

I gave this another go today. I found that the On Demand link in the epg works when you select the ITV player option, but not the BBC option.

May seem a sillly question but I am assuming that you have a live network connection on your box?
(that is known to work)

Having just read thread was about to post same question? Not saying this is the OP's case but so many people with Sky and to a certain extent Freesat think their internet conection is a 2 way uplink/downlink connection via their dish! They even think their phone calls go that way!!??

Yup network connection is live. iPlayer via BBC Red Button works fine - it's just the entry point via the On Demand section of the EPG which is a dead end.

as the other post indicates, its connection is working fine - via the red button route. Used it several times. Its just the BBC iplayer via the EPG On Demand selection thats the problem.

It is working fine here both the old way (Red Button) and the new way (EPG channel select then Red Button).

I found that Using the On Demand option via the EPG, it fails to get BBC iPlayer on the first attempt (No Internet connection detected).....but,.......

....From here press the "Back" button. You will then get the "Press red button" banner again. Press the Red button and this time BBC iPlayer will load.

This works for me too, I have same problem initially with it saying I have no connection, after pressing back then red again it works.
