Kirsty MacColl - 10 Year Anniversary of Her Death
Today is the ten year anniversary of Kirsty MacColl's tragic and untimely death.
Robert Elms show on BBC London featured a 'four-fer' from Kirsty -his regular slot where listeners phone in with their favourite songs from a selected artist. It was a lovely and moving tribute to her on this most saddest of days. You can listen here: http://http://www.bbc.co.uk/programm...cn51b#synopsis Also, on Monday at 10pm there'll be a Radio Two programme based on her, some details: "The 10th anniversary of the death of Kirsty MacColl will also be marked in a programme celebrating her life and work. Kirsty MacColl – A Celebration will be presented by Billy Bragg and features contributions from David Byrne, Johnny Marr and Holly Johnson". RIP Kirsty MacColl |

She was incredibly talented. Such a loss.
Can't believe that was 10 years ago. |

I didn't realise until not long ago that she'd died, and how she died.
Such a very sad and untimely end for a great talent.

Rest in Peace Kirsty.
You were truly the Anne Boleyn of pop. In life and death. |

Gosh, I absolutely loved this woman, and her music.
I love Caroline, On The Beach, Free World, New England and of course Fairytale of New York. My favourite has to be Walking Down Madison, followed very closely by Irish Cousin. The day after she died, our vice principal spoke about it during assembly and then he played Fairytale of New York. It was very moving. |

Strangely saw this post as I was listening to The One and Only, one of her lyrically best songs... but then I say that about all her stuff.
The live cd of the tribute concert is coming out in September! I'm sure it won't be half as special as the gig was but it'll be a nice memento for any fans! |

Oh must keep an eye for that! Was that the one in Shepherd's Bush? I think Shepherd's Bush? Ellie Goulding sang at it I think?
