Compared to Chris Hollins from last year who never got a 10 and won largely on his popularity within the BEEB Kara was clearly the best celebrity this year.”

Kara's fgather was on ITT saying how much he liked Artem and that they had rehearsed at her family home

much as I love them both, the real test is when the glitter and glamour has gone and you have to wash his socks and put up with the annoying habits - how much do you really have in common?

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a bit of a dalliance but doubt it will last

I don't think he likes her as much as she likes him. She seems in awe of him. And at times scared of him.

Well, her sister Hannah is dating her (previous) on-screen boyfriend Joe Thomas, so, it's not impossible! Good luck to them because they look like such a wonderful couple

Yes. She danced well throughout the series, so what has she done to make herself a memorable winner?

Until last night that is ... Ouch!

Did she have a big personality? I don't think so.

Did she make an utter fool of herself? Definitely not.

Did she perform an outstanding dance that will be remembered for years? I doubt it.

Did she make a massive improvement throughout the series? Err, probably not.

She danced capably throughout, she deserved her win but I don't necessarily think she'll be remembered.

Ann Widdecombe however ...

That's true actually. I can't think of any of their dances, that i'll always remember.

I think that she may have been too consistently good throughout.

There didn't seem to be a journey, on the dance floor at least, to engage with.

You can't feel sympathy for someone who's good.

You can't feel empathy for someone who hasn't struggled.

You can't feel annoyance at someone who hasn't consistently under achieved.

You can't feel elation for someone who hasn't had to overcome hardship.

It's difficult to know what to feel, apart from "Well, I reckoned all along that she'd win it".

It doesn't diminish the win but it doesn't enhance it either.

ETA: Rather like watching Michael Schumacher winning yet another Grand Prix I suppose.

Im not a Kara fan but I will remember their rumba (not the one they did in the final which was horrendous, the prior version which was immaculate) ... one of the best I have ever seen

I will however remember Matts jive, samba and tango

I'll remember her Rumba, Argentine Tango, American Smooth, Paso Doble and Viennese Waltz, and I have memorable dances for the other finalists as well. Not any of the other contestants though, strangely enough.

But I am talking about being memorable like:

Jill Halfpenny's Jive.
Colin Jackson's Show dance.
Darren Gough's Paso Doble.

Dances that are still talked about, years after the event.

I think Ann Widdecombe might have one or two. or

Well of those I remember Jills jive, but cant remember Darrens paso and must admit I didnt enjoy Colins showdance

Other memorable dances for me have been Toms showdance and Lisas cha cha and Austins paso

This season perhaps Karas rumba, Matts samba and Scotts jive

Well, remember, we are getting a production thrown at us. The imminent romance angle worked well for ratings, and for getting votes.

The reality of the situation could be just the opposite of what we've been presented.

I'm not sure I'll remember anything from the final two hours other than the judges' #1 pick getting the lowest popular vote.

For the entire series the dances I'm likely to remember most were some of Ann's, and Gavin kissing Bruno, and perhaps Pamela's outstanding VW (now seen three times.)

That seems a bit upside-down to me.

Kara had the leg placements (most of time), the posture (most of the time), the timing (almost always), the torso and arm movements (most of the time) and speed, correct, more so than Pam or Matt.

Of the males Matt was the only one who could reliably move his body to the music and do the strong "stunts".

It was Pam who could act on the dance floor, who could emote, who was in character all the time, and whose dancing had the most "soul", the emotional content. Kara too often felt detached, and Matt was on-again/off-again.

I will never talk about or think about an Ann W dance again, ever!

And I don't remember Darren Paso, and have blocked out the memory of watching Colin's awful Showdance on YT!

Jill's jive I agree with, and I'd add Tom & Camilla's showdance, Alesha's Waltz and Cha Cha, Mark's AT, Matt Di A's Salsa, Chris's Charleston...

I will definitely remember her AS, AT, rumba, salsa and VW

the only other dancer that has that many dances I really like is Alesha

I couldn't pull any of Darren Gough's dances out of a line up
