Kara's Showdance Massively Overmarked

Nobody with eyes could say that was worth a 9.

Kara was static when in hold, her legs were like anchors and it was as if she'd forgotten what the rest of her body was for. The lifts were all a bit haphazard, the dance content was average. And that isn't even getting onto the fact she lost timing and screwed up!

I don't have an anti-Kara bias, before anyone accuses me of it, in fact I think she deserves to win based on her overall performances, but there was absolutely no way that showdance was deserving of a 9.

It really doesnt matter........the judges scores mean nothing....so why does it matter.....just thank goodness that three fairly awful showdances are over and we can get back to the proper dancing.

I 100% agree, I'd say a 7 would be appropriate, though perhaps generous.

As it's already been said, it makes no difference, the judges score mean nothing. Anyway, since when do the public listen to the judges?

Dancing is subjective isn't it? For me it was the best of the 3 and without the errors it would have been a 10 scoring dance. Bruno was right - professional ballet dancers spend weeks training to allow their moves flow seamlessly and whilst I agree Artem was being too ambitious, I was very impressed with the bits that worked well.

But the scores really don't matter at this stage - there is no real judges' leaderboard and as we found out when Lisa was on the show, high scores (relative to others) do not correlate with votes.

I know it doesn't matter but I wouldn't have given any of the showdances more than a 7 (and that's me being generous).

they were either bad or dull - 7s across the board

Kara herself said the 9 from Craig was "generous".

All three showdances were disappointments{

Matt's good moments but very static for the middle of the dance

Kara had potential but massively went wrong

Pam's played it safe which made it quite dull but overall I thought it was the best (not a Pam fan by the way)

Craig's overmarking annoyed me the most, (and I'm a Craig fan). Matt didn't make any mistakes, so how come he got 2 marks less???

Because Craig is a bourgeois prig who evidently looks down on the sort of dancing Matt and Aliona were doing.

She is still the best dance overall so the scores dont matter at all, I wasn't thrilled with the dance myself but I will still vote for her because her performances have wowed me over and above anyone else's - just my opinion though

Was expecting them to do something beautiful but it was horrid

Kara was overmarked ?..what about Pamela ?
Considering Kara and Matt were attempting routines that were at least ten times more difficult, shouldn't that have been taken into consideration ?
I'm sure Aliona and Artem could have devised a couple of simple routines for their partners as well..we wouldn't have much of a show though, would we ?

The judges don't score on x-factor but their manipulative comments impact on the public's perception of performance. Don't see why scd should be different but hope I'm wrong as the shameless pimpage of pammie was something to behold.

Well said.

Oh let's go down the slushy, sentimental movie road again shall we!!!!

It was like watching paint dry.

I thought all three were really bad and no-one should have got over an 8, but of the three, Kara's was my favourite and it would have been spectacular if done right.

A 7? are you serious?
Her dance was not as good as others shes done but saying she should have got a 7, COME ON

This is the worst collection of showdances since Colin Jackson. They were all overmarked IMO. Pam's was just a complete rip off, totally unoriginal. SHAME ON YOU JAMES!

The level of difficulty of the first two showdances was much higher than Pam's.

I'm very serious. It's not a personal thing, I like all of the finalists but I may not know all about the technical flaws but from a relatively untrained eye, I could see everything wrong in that dance. It was written on her face.

But the execution was far worse.

It's a gamble. Do you go for quality or complexity?

I'd rather watch something fairly simple danced well, than something flashy danced badly. I thought Kara & Matt's dances were too frenetic and messy.

Pamela deserved to be top.

I'm a Kara fan, but the 9 from Craig was marking the potential, not the delivery of the dance. Kara said it was "generous", so I think she would have been satisfied with a row of 8's because she knew it all went wrong.

She deserved a three. She was flapping around in the air most of the time

They were all three overmarked for fairly unshowy dances- Kara more so than the other two, but Pam also fairly overmarked.
