Underwhelmed by show dances
Fredless Ginger

Well, I was hoping to be blown away by at least one of the show dances. But all three missed the spot on some level.

Matt and Aliona's may have been the best balance of 'show' and 'dance'. I would quite like to see it again because I didn't get into the first half that much as I was just sitting there thinking 'why are the show dances on now?!'

Kara and Artem's was far far too lifty. What a waste of such a brilliant dancer. And it was really messy in parts. I know that those lifts might well be extremely difficult but I wanted to see her dance.

Pamela and James's was the most dancy, but never really got going for me and I hated the choice of music.

All in all I'm disappointed that what I thought would be the best final in years is feeling a bit limp. But mostly I'm disappointed by the change of format putting the show dances in the first episode. What's the point in having the finale before the end? The BBC have some very odd ideas sometimes...

I agree. Although I preferred Pamela's..... which actually contained some dancing!

I suppose this way we do at least get to see everyone's showdance in competition but it did seem a bit early.

Matt and Aliona's dance didn't flow at all and Aliona really wasn't very good in it either. Matt did OK with what he was given.

I was surprised by the choreography, which to me seemed to have even less dance in it than the previous one. I thought they'd go for something more like Pamela's except with some big lifts in it.

I didn't think Kara performed her dance as well as Matt performed his and she looked terrified (as she did in the rumba which also seemed a bit wobbly to me).

It was perhaps a smidgen dull but pretty much what I would expect to have seen. Not so much safe as wise.

Shame it wasn't much of a showdance and like every one of her others.
