This Year's Show Dances Not As Good As Those In Past Years...

Too complex for the celebs and too many tricks and lifts. Tom Chambers and Chris Hollins's were better.

What do you think guys? Disappointed by this year's show dances?

Why did they move the show dances to an earlier slot?

I think Matts showdance was brilliant and really enjoyed it - even if it was out of character for the programme.

I would say he outdanced Aliona in it - absolutely brilliant.

The showdance should be the last dance - I think he was cream crackered after that.

Disappointed they changed the order. Kara would have done a better job of her last two dances obviously had she been able to do the showdance last.

Both her and Matt's a bit OTT, would have preferred more dancing but well done to both of them on what they did do.

Much preferred Cola's as that was fun and had the right balance, but I generally find the freestyles a let down. It's like the couple is too tired by then to really have a good go at it and to have to learn a new dance as well for the final, I think was too much.

I agree and it was in the wrong slot.
It's supposed to be the dance that finally decides your winner.

I think there was an element of having seen it all before too - so many dances had lifts and tricks early on.

matt's was really bad and that could be why he didn't win. Aliona is just not a good choreographer. Artem is brilliant but there were def too many lifts and tricks in both the dances. You can see Kara was dizzy after each lift!

I think that apart from Tom's, which is one of the best all-time Strictly dances, the showdances are never amongst the best of the series. Even so, last night's showdances were all disappointing. To be honest, I'd be quite happy if they got rid of the showdances.

Well I think you can deduce my opinion on last night's showdances if I say that they made me appreciate Rachel's (which was a bit dull) and even Lisa's I think there are very few I've liked, the main one being Tom & Camilla's.

I would never have enjoyed Matt's because I didn't like the choice of music, costumes or choreography - and I SO wanted to see them do a great routine. With Kara it was the exact opposite and if they had pulled it off, the routine would have been amazing. But is wasn't. I enjoyed Pamela's the most last night because James got everything right and Pamela delivered.

But I HATED the show dance not being the last dance and it was one of the things that spoiled the final for me.

Overall for me the show dances were poor in comparison to previous years.

It's rare that I love a showdance. I loved Alesha, Rachel, Tom and Chris's showdances. Matt and Kara's were just trick after trick, like Matt Di or (as far as I can remember) Ricky's. Thought Matt at least executed his tricks well, but I didn't enjoy either of them. it was the perfect opportunity for Kara to do something like her American Smooth (Iinstead of doing American Smooth) and for Matt to do something showy like his Charleston or Jive.

I've only properly enjoyed Tom, Zoe and Mark's Showdances.

Pam's had the edge for me last night, but that was partly due to the other two being so dire.

I agree Buddy - and I was also desperate to see Pam and James do their AT. I would have preferred new dance-best scoring dance-elimination-showdance (with loser's showdance shown to give others a break before doing theirs), and leave the other dance out of it!

I enjoyed them all, but not in a blown-away way like Tom Chamber's or even Chris/Rikkis last year. IMO Pam and James' was the best for me as it was the most fluid, Kara's was obviously too much for her given the injury she sustained and then finishing so much off time, and Matt's was a very good gymnastics routine with very little connection to the music.

They were poor but they had another dance to learn. It was ridiculous and unnecessary.

I was really disappointed with the showdances last night.

Is it compulsory for any Jordan doing a showdance to do a Dirty Dancing rip-off? It was cute & fun when Ola & Chris did it but just annoyed me last night when James & Pamela did it. Wasn't a show dance IMO - just a nice homage to a dance movie.

Felt let down by both Kara and Matt's showdances which both seemed frantic and under-rehearsed. Perhaps because they all had to do 4 dances, although I know they've done that in previous years too...

In previous years the 4th dance has been a group VW. That can be cobbled together in minutes.Full on new dances cannot.

I am not a showdance fan at all and wouldnt be sorry to see them done away with......there have been more dissapointments than hits over the years and I think its a sad way to finish. I dont buy the thoughts that the showdance makes much difference to the final outcome...it certainly wouldnt sway me. I would prefer them to pick a particular ballroom or latin dance of their choice and see them dance it with no rules so any lifts etc can be done.....for me Kara and Artems American Smooth in Blackpool was the perfect showdance for them.....it just perfectly summed them up as a couple and their dancing and it could not be topped by any Freddy Mercury homage.

Matt and Aliona could have done their Samba with lifts and more gymnastics and it would have been a thousand times better than Farmer Giles does Strictly.
