Here here, definitely the most honest, genuine and best dancer won this year! I gathered from all the other dancers that they all loved Kara and as much as I thought that Matt was a good dancer he was not as convincing and was always shocked when he got negative remarks from the judges whereas Kara always took it in her stride and actually agreed with them, bless her!

Kara is not only a great little dancer but a lovely well adjusted young lady! The best person definitely won, in my opinion!

Shame the OP couldn't have been as dignified as Matt was. He was so lovely.

Also maybe the other dancers looked happier after Kara's dance because it had more of a wow factor and was a better routine than Matt's vienese waltz??

Yes, I'm a Matt fan but I think both him and Kara are genuine/honest people.

I'm thrilled Kara won - she truly deserved it, as did Artem for his brilliant choreography. Matt might have won with a different partner. I hope they drop Aliona. It's been a wonderful series, with all the magic back.

Matt danced well too and its credit to him that he kept the competition going till the end. Even at the end I wasn't sure if Kara would win.

Matt was such a good sport, worthy runner up and I loved how he said he'd have voted for Kara if he had been at home watching.

I knew Kara would win, it was non-too-obliquely obvious. I wanted Pamela 1st Matt 2nd to win, but I think you're showing utterly bad sportsmanship.

Oh well.

Wifey and I thought that several weeks ago, funnily enough. I think Aliona let Matt down.

Strangely, around about week 3, I decided I didn't like Matt ........ I would have been very happy if it had been Kara and Pam in the final............ BUT Mr Baker redeemed himself fully in my eyes with the very gracious remark he made at the end to Kara and Artem. Having just lost the final, it must have taken some to say that.

As I noted in another thread, if Matt was robbed, it was by Aliona. He was obviously popular, but I found his dances in the final either underwhelming (his VW and paso) or a little misjudged (his showdance), leaving him with only his samba as a showstopper (a tad overmarked for me, but I'm being niggardly here). So three problems with choreography in the final. Put this against Kara - a rumba, which though not a popular dance was liked by many; a showdance which wasn't great, but then whose was?; a waltz which was graceful if overmarked; and that AS which is for me the dance of the series. Artem won it for Kara, Aliona lost it for Matt.

I have a soft spot for Matt.....he is a natural and has always been my favourite. Tonight Kara was the best and a worthy winner, well done to all of the dancers! I appreciate how hard you all work! Thank you for some great TV

I too would have loved Matt to win, but I thought the final 3 was brilliant and IMO Kara thoroughly deserved to win.

Both came across as lovely people and all these he said / she said posts are really sad actually.

Yes, that was my preference too. Kara is a beautiful dancer, perhaps a bit too 'girly' for me but that's purely personal preference. I've always been a tomboy But really anyone of them could have taken it. I think it just comes down to personal preference

I've supported Matt all the way through and I voted a lot for him in the first half of the show tonight.

Once it was Matt and Kara through I didn't vote because I thought either would be worthy winners.

However watching the AS from Kara and Artem both my hubbie and I said she and Artem in fact deserved to win. It was just beautifully performed and wonderful choreography, and add it to her overall consistency throughout the series, whereas Matt and Aliona have been a bit hit and miss at times, mainly due to choreography.

A couple lifts the glitterball and the best couple were Kara and Artem. and that was despite her being in obvious pain from an injured wrist.

Matt was very gracious with his comments about Kara, it would be nice if others could follow that example

Here here to this. The best two reached the Final and I think Matt has been wonderful and I wanted him to win from week one but when Kara was told to 'give it more welly' she certainly did and I was won over by her Paso, AT, American Smooth and Rumba.

What a lovely, wonderful women she is....treat her well Artem you have a diamond in your arms.

As many have said before what a gracious runner up we have in Matt Baker...two wonderful role models for our youngsters...Are you watching Rooney!!!

Kara made mistakes on her showdance and recieves all 9, Matt makes no mistakes and is underscored. But the judges seem 2 have a favourite. Look at kara's face when recieving those 9s

I am so so happy that Kara won this year For the first series in a while I watched the final and thought yes...the right dancer has won

Remember that her and Artem are an item...making the intimate dances that much easier for them...therefore...easier for them to appear convincing. Matt and Aliona didn't have that luxury. Matt woz robbed. Matt you are my favourite.
